Summary / Abstract:

LTLietuvoje sinagogų statyba turi aiškias chronologines ribas – nuo žydų įsikūrimo (XIV a.) iki II pasaulinio karo. Dabartinėje Lietuvos Respublikos teritorijoje stovėjo ~500-600 įvairių žydų maldos namų; vien Vilniuje jų buvo arti 100. Iki šių dienų išliko tik dvi veikiančios sinagogos ir ~80 buvusių žydų maldos namų, pokario metais paverstų sporto salėmis, sandėliais ar gamybiniais cechais. Monografijoje išanalizuoti ir susisteminti gausūs istorinių, archyvinių, ikonografinių ir natūros tyrimų duomenys. Sinagogos tyrinėjamos sąveikoje su kitais sakraliniais pastatais architektūriniu, istoriniu bei liturginiu aspektais, ieškant ištakų Šventajame Rašte. Parodoma sinagogos prigimtis, formų raida, susijusi su judaizmo liturgija bei epochų stilistikos pokyčiais. Nustatyti sinagogos struktūriniai ryšiai su Sandoros palapine ir Šventykla bei liturgijos ritualo transformacijų įtaka sinagogų architektūrai; atskleista Lietuvos sinagogų architektūros ir statybos raida kiekvienu istorijos periodu nuo XIV a. iki II pasaulinio karo; atkurtas autentiškas sinagogų architektūros vaizdas ir sudaryta pastatų tipologija, parodyti būdingi sprendimai ir jų variantai; nustatyta profesionaliosios ir liaudies architektūros įtaka pastatų kompozicijai; išaiškinti daugelio XIX-XX a. sinagogų projektų autoriai; nurodyta sinagogų vieta Lietuvos miestų ir miestelių urbanistinėje struktūroje, atskleisti vizualiniai ryšiai su kitų konfesijų sakraliniais pastatais; apžvelgta sinagogų architektūros raida Europos šalyse, atskleisti saviti ir bendrieji Lietuvos ir kitų kraštų sinagogų architektūros bruožai. ENConstruction of synagogues in Lithuania has clear chronological boundaries, spanning a period from the settlement of Jews (14th c.) to the Second World War. The current territory of the Republic of Lithuania had about 500-600 different Jewish houses of worship, of which nearly 100 were in Vilnius alone. Only two functional synagogues and about 80 former Jewish houses of worship that in the post-war years were turned into sports, warehousing or manufacturing facilities have survived to date. The monograph analyses and systematises abundant historical, archival, iconographic and nature research data. Synagogues are explored in relation with other religious buildings from the architectural, historical and liturgical aspects, seeking the beginnings in the Bible. The book shows the nature of the synagogue and the evolution of its forms in relation with the liturgy of Judaism and stylistic changes of epochs. The author identifies the structural ties of the synagogue with the Tabernacle of the Testimony and the Sanctuary and the influence of transformations of liturgical rituals on the architecture of synagogues. The monograph reveals the evolution of architecture and construction of Lithuanian synagogues in each historical period, from the 14th c. to the Second World War, restores the authentic picture of the architecture of synagogues and draws up a typology of the buildings, shows typical solutions and their options, defines the impact of professional and folk architecture on the composition of the buildings, identifies the authors of most 19th-20th cc. synagogue projects and notes the place of synagogues in the urban structure of Lithuanian cities and towns.
