Joniškės kapinynas

LT2013 m. Joniškės kapinyne (Klaipėdos) VU vykdytų archeologinių kasinėjimų metu ištirtos 4 perkasos (69,9 m2 plotas). Tyrimai vykdyti kapinyno V dalyje, patenkančioje į sodų bendrijos "Švyturys" teritoriją, sklypuose Raganių 4-oji g. 31 bei Raganių 2-oji g. 21. Juose planuojama vykdyti statybos darbus, todėl reikėjo atlikti archeologinius tyrimus. Nors tyrimų metu palaidojimų nerasta, perkasose 10, 11 atidengtose duobėse aptikti IX–XIII a. radiniai bei degintiniai kauliukai leidžia manyti, jog perkasų aplinkoje gali būti išlikusių sveikų ar apardytų kapų. Remiantis tyrimų rezultatais, pasiūlyta praplėsti kapinyno ribas V, ŠV bei Š kryptimis. Tyrimų metu iš viso aptikta 15 radinių, kurie perduoti MLIM. [...] [p. 141, 144].

ENIn 2013, VU conducted an excavation (4 trenches, a total of 69.9 m2) in Joniškė cemetery (Klaipėda). The investigation was in the W part of the cemetery, which is on the grounds of the "Švyturys" garden society and the plots at Raganių 4-oji st. 31 and Raganių 2-oji st. 21. A 19th-20th centuries cultural layer up to 1 m thick was unearthed in trenches 8-9, but no finds connected with the cemetery were found. Trenches 10-11 contained 6 pits, in which were found cremated bones and copper alloy artefacts connected with the late iron age: two twisted wire neck-rings, a penannular brooch with poppy head terminals, a flat bracelet, etc.. The pits also contained 19th first half of the 20th centuries finds: 1823, 1826, and 1841 coins, contemporaneous household pottery, etc. It is likely that these pits were dug in the second half of the 19th early 20th centuries during the archaeological excavation of Joniškė cemetery.
