The Modern Maronite identity in the twenty first century Lebanon: historical and ethnological perspectives

LT20 a. maronitų bendruomenė išvystė nepriklausomo, atsieto nuo Sirijos Libano idėją, kuri buvo transformuota į politinį darinį 1943 m. paskelbiant Libano nepriklausomybę, todėl maronitų bendruomenė yra vertinama kaip pagrindinė Libano nepriklausomybės ir pagrindinių Libano kultūrinių simbolių formuotoja kitų šalyje gyvenančių bendruomenių kontekste. Vis tik dėl pakitusių socialinių ir politinių aplinkybių 21 a. Libane, lyginant su 20 a. pirmąja puse, kurias lėmė Libano pilietinis karas, pakitęs vidinis ir išorinis politinis ir geopolitinis kontekstas šalyje bei pastaruoju metu vykstanti politinė ir ekonominė krizė, yra reikalingas maronitų bendruomenės modernaus kolektyvinio identiteto įvertinimas 21 a. kontekste. Taip pat paminėtina, kad dėl unikalios Libano sociopolitinės konfesinės sistemos įvairių procesų samprata Libane nėra galime be vidinių procesų konfesinėse bendruomenėse analizės. Disertacijoje nagrinėjamas modernus maronitų bendruomenės kolektyvinis identitetas 21 a. amžiuje Libane. Šis tyrimas atskleidžia maronitų bendruomenės modernaus kolektyvinio identiteto viziją 21 a. kontekste Libane remiantis religiniu ir sekuliariu bendruomenės sluoksniais. Tyrime įvertinamos modernaus kolektyvinio identiteto teorijos, maronitų bendruomenės istorinė raida nuo susikūrimo iki šių dienų, maronitų bendruomenės modernios minties raida ir modernus maronitų kolektyvinis identitetas vertinant religinį ir sekuliarųjį bendruomenės sluoksnius. ENIn the 20th century, the Maronite community developed the idea of an independent and distinct from Syria Lebanon, which was transformed into a political entity with the declaration of Lebanon's independence in 1943. Consequently, the Maronite community is generally perceived as the main advocate of Lebanon's independence and the founder of the main cultural symbols of Lebanon, particularly in the context of the other communities in the country. However, the different socio-political circumstances in 21st century Lebanon compared to those of the first half of the 20th century as a result of the Lebanese civil war, the changed internal and external political and geopolitical context in the country, and the recent political and economic crisis requires an assessment of the modern collective identity of the Maronite community in the context of the 21st century. It should also be noted that the unique socio-political confessional system in Lebanon makes the analysis of various processes in Lebanon impossible without an analysis of the internal processes within confessional communities. This dissertation examines the modern collective identity of the Maronite community in 21st century Lebanon. This study reveals a vision of the modern collective identity of the Maronite community in the context of the 21st century in Lebanon based on the religious and secular layers of the community. The study assesses theories of modern collective identity, the historical development of the Maronite community from its formation to the present day, the development of modern thought in the Maronite community, and the modern Maronite collective identity based on the religious and secular layers of the community.
