LTPradiniai pastato A. Jakšto g. 5 archeologinių tyrinėjimų rezultatai jau buvo paskelbti (ATL 2012 metais, V., 2013, p. 385–396). [...] [p. 557].
ENA 3–4.55 m thick stratum of cultural layers was unearthed atop the original ground’s surface, an oxidised sandy loam, which exists under the entire building. During the excavation, a large quantity of 16th-18th century "pot-shaped" (Topfkacheln) and panel (Blattkacheln) stove tile fragments, and sherds of household pottery, pots, cups, plates, bowls, pans, and baking pans were found in the third horizon’s cultural layers, especially the rubbish pits. A large percentage of the stove tile decoration types were found for the first time in Kaunas old town, e.g. a semi-cylindrical, green glazed tile fragment decorated with a Vytis (?) and sherds of 16th century polychrome tiles decorated with human figures, rosettes, vases of flowers, and stylised floral designs. Fragments of three small square (?) 16 x 16 cm panel stove tiles decorated with images of Samson fighting a lion and St George a dragon should especially be mentioned. Although they were found in a 16th century pit and the 16th–17th century cultural layer, they undoubtedly date to the second half of the 15th century. These are some of the first Gothic stove tiles found in Kaunas Old Town. Bone and antler artefacts decorated with geometric designs and two mid 16th century grey sandstone balls likely intended for games are very rare finds in Kaunas old town. In summary, it needs to be said that many of the finds and objects, although they were discovered in the Royal Jurisdiction, did not differ in almost any way from all of the finds discovered in Kaunas old town. In some cases, in terms of quality, they are even poorer than old town finds, e.g. almost no imported stoneware vessels, white clay ceramics, or majolica and very few glass artefacts are found in this area. But the fragments of semi-cylindrical, polychrome stove tiles, tiles which are usually found in the city’s wealthy buildings, and "potshaped" stove tile (Topfkachel) types, which have been unknown up until now or have been very rarely discovered, have been found in this area. Fragments of gothic stove tiles, which show the exceptional position of the Royal Jurisdiction in Kaunas, have been found in this area for the first time.
