Archeologiniai tyrimai Žiežmariuose

LT2014 m. Žaslių, Gėlių ir Trumpojoje gatvėse tirtuose šurfuose (1–5 ir 7–10) po šaligatvio trinkelių ir asfalto dangomis fiksuoti apie 30–70 cm storio niveliaciniai žvyro ir smėlio sluoksniai bei XX a. II pusės 0,5–1 m gylio komunikacijų perkasimai. Taip pat šurfuose aptikti apardyto XX a. I pusės akmeninio grindinio fragmentai. Nesuardytose šurfų dalyse aptiktas iki 35–80 cm storio intensyvus XVIII a. pabaigos-XIX a. kultūrinis sluoksnis. Sluoksnį sudaro durpingas juodžemis su medžio skiedromis ir šakomis, kurios naudotos sausinant žemės paviršių. Minėtame sluoksnyje rasta glazūruotų indų, koklių fragmentų, butelių duženų, odinių dirbinių ir kt. Šurfe 9, 1,25 m gylyje, durpingo juodžemio sluoksnyje rasta ATR Stanislovo Augusto Poniatovskio (1764–1795) 1 grašio moneta. Šurfuose 3–4 ir 7–10 po XVIII a. pabaigos-XIX a. kultūriniu sluoksniu aptiktas iki 70 cm storio XVI–XVIII a. I pusės kultūrinis sluoksnis, kurį sudaro smulkaus pilko dumblingo smėlio sluoksnis. Jame rasta neglazūruotos, redukcinėje aplinkoje degtos keramikos, plokštinių koklių, dengtų žalia glazūra, stiklinių butelių duženų ir kt. Aikštėje tirtame šurfe 6 fiksuotas permaišytas iki 1,9 m storio XX a. II pusės kultūrinis sluoksnis, kuriame rasta XVI–XX a. datuojamų radinių. [...] [p. 492].

ENIn 2014, field surveys and excavations were conducted on Žaslių, Gėlių, Trumpoji, Šiaurės, Vilniaus, A. Ažubalio, Paupio, and Vytauto streets in the town of Žiežmariai. The test pits (1–5 and 7–10) excavated on Žaslių, Gėlių, and Trumpoji streets contained disturbed stone paving fragments from the first half of the 20th century. A rich, late 18th–19th century cultural layer up to 35–80 cm thick was discovered in the undisturbed parts of the test pits. A 16th–18th century cultural layer of fine grey silty sand up to 70 cm thick was discovered under the late 18th–19th century cultural layer in test pits 3–4 and 7–10. The mixed cultural layer recorded in test pit 6 in the square, was up to 1.9 m thick, dated to the second half of the 20th century, and contained 16th–20th century finds. 30–70 cm thick levelling layers of gravel and sand as well as utility line trenches dug down to a depth of 0.50–1.55 m were recorded under the paver and asphalt pavement in the excavated trenches. Disturbed stone paving fragments from the first half of the 20th century were also discovered. A rich late 18th-19th century cultural layer, which consisted of peaty humus with wood chips and branches and was up to 35–85 cm thick, was discovered in the undisturbed parts of the trenches. A layer of fine grey silty sand, up to 70 cm thick, with 16th first half of the 18th century finds was unearthed under it. Wooden structures, which could be connected with former plot boundaries and street reinforcement structures were discovered in trenches 6, 7, 11, 14, and 15.Fill layers as well as layers created during the laying of utility lines during the second half of the 20th century were discovered in Šiaurės, Paupio, A. Ažubalio, Vilniaus, and Vytauto streets. A 19th early 20th century cultural layer up to 1.3 m thick was discovered in the undisturbed parts of the test pits.
