Summary / Abstract:

LTVilniaus senamiestyje, sklype ties Lydos, Pranciškonų ir Šv. Mikalojaus gatvių sankryža, Lydos g. 5, planuojamos naujo pastato statybos. Pagal architektūrinių, istorinių, archeologinių ir kartografinės medžiagos sugretinimo, tyrimų rezultatus ketinama naująjį pastatą statyti ant išlikusių pamatų liekanų. Prieš pradedant pastato projektavimo darbus, norėta išsiaiškinti tikslias sklypo ŠR dalyje esančių pastatų liekanų vietas, jų būklę. Sklype tirta 50 m2 plote ir papildomai atidengta 4 m2 dydžio 2001 m. archeologinių tyrimų (V. Daminaitis) ploto dalis bei čia buvęs XVIII a. vidurio mūrinio pastato pamatinės dalies fragmentas (ATL 2001 metais, V., 2002, p. 180). Tyrimų metu surasta 40 vienetų XVII– XIX a. radinių. Daugiausia jų aptikta 2001 m. tirto ploto užpylimuose, nes nurodomas 48 m2 2001 m. tyrimų plotas buvęs gerokai didesnis. Didesnė sklypo dalis buvo iškasta mechanizuotai dar 2001 m. ENThe construction of a new building is planned on the Vilnius old town plot at Lydos st. 5 at the intersection of Lydos, Pranciškonų, and Šv. Mikalojaus streets. Based on the investigation results and a comparison of the architectural, historical, archaeological, and cartographical material, the construction of a new building on the surviving remains of the foundations is foreseen. Prior to starting the building design work, there was a desire to ascertain the precise locations of the building remains in the NE part of the plot and the state of their survival. 50 m2 were excavated on the plot and 4 m2 of the area excavated in 2001, where there was a foundation fragment from a former mid 18th century masonry building, was additionally uncovered. In 2014, the cultural layer excavated on the plot at Lydos st. 5 was 2.7-2.8 m thick. The coordinates of the NE corner of the home erected on the plot in the mid 18th century were corrected. It was determined that the home’s NE room did not have a basement, unlike the home’s SE room and basement, which were excavated in 2001 and additionally excavated in 2014.Among the building’s surviving exterior, N, and E wall foundations, the late 16th century wall was 0.8–1.1 m wide, the mid 18th century walls 60–70 cm wide at the top and 80–90 cm at the bottom. The building’s NE corner was destroyed in the 20th century in installing a concrete construction and digging a power cable trench. A floor fragment from the NE room’s ground floor has survived near the mid 18th century building’s E wall at Habs 114.50 m. Parts of the mid 18th and first half of the 19th century partition walls were unearthed as well as the remains of a heating stove foundation in the NW corner of the NE room. A fragment of 19th early 20th century stone street surface was found at a depth of 40 cm outside the mid 18th century building on Lydos street. 17th first half of the 18th century layers with the remains of 17th-18th century stove tiles and household pottery vessels were disturbed during the construction of the mid 18th century home. In the NW part of the excavated area, the walls of the mid 18th century home are nestled against the E end of the home and basement that stood at this site in the late 16th century. The majority of the walls of the inner rooms of the mid 18th century building were destroyed in laying a heating line in the second half of the 20th century and probably through the use of unsuitable methods in investigating the remains of the building’s underground part in 2001. A 2.7–2.8 m thick and 1–1.5 m wide strip of undisturbed cultural layer has survived only beside the N and E walls of the mid 18thcentury building. 40 17th-19th century finds were discovered during the investigation. The majority of the finds were discovered in the backfill of the area excavated in 2001 because the area excavated in 2001 was far bigger than indicated 48 m2. The greater part of the plot was dug up mechanically in 2001.
