Žagarės senamiesčio tyrimai

LT2015 m. Joniškio r. savivaldybės administracijos užsakymu Žagarės miesto istorinėje dalyje (UK 17127) ir senojo miesto vietoje (UK 30333) (Joniškio r.) projektuojamose magistralinių vandentiekio bei nuotekų tinklų iki privačių namų trasose buvo atlikti žvalgomieji tyrimai ir žvalgymai. Darbai vykdyti Miesto aikštėje ir Avižonio, Dariaus ir Girėno, Gedimino, Kalkių, P. Cvirkos, Raktuvės, Šiaulių, Švėtės, Tilto bei Vilniaus gatvėse. Bendras tirtų įvadų–išvadų trasų ilgis-520,71 m. Iš viso buvo ištirti 28 šurfai, kurių bendras plotas 28,08 m2 . Žvalgymai atlikti 49,8 m ilgio planuojamose vandentiekio įvadų-išvadų trasų vietose. Tyrimų metu nustatyta, kad storiausi (iki 1,05 m) XVI–XVIII a. datuojami kultūriniai sluoksniai yra P. Avižonio, P. Cvirkos, Dariaus ir Girėno, Raktuvės, Švėtės gatvėse ir Miesto aikštėje. Labiau į miesto pakraščius nutolusiose gatvių dalyse sluoksniai menki arba visai nesusiformavę. Dalyje šurfų sluoksniai stipriai apardyti nelegalių žemės kasimo darbų metu. [...] [p. 398].

ENIn 2015, a field evaluation and survey were conducted along the routes of the planned water and sewer service lines to private homes in the historical part of the city of Žagarė (Joniškis district) and in the old town. 28 test pits (a total of 28.08 m2 ) were excavated. Surveys were conducted along the routes of the planned 49.8 m long water service lines. During the investigation, it was determined that the thickest (up to 1,05 m) cultural layers, which date to the 17th-18th centuries are on P. Avižonio, P. Cvirkos, Dariaus ir Girėno, Raktuvės, and Švėtės streets and Miesto square. The layers are poor or do not exist in general in the parts of the streets closer to the city’s periphery. The layers in some of the test pits have been heavily disturbed through illegal earthwork. Sherds of household pottery, stove tile fragments, and shards from glass vessels dating to the 17th-19th centuries were discovered during the investigation along with fragments of building foundations and stone paving.
