Tyrimai Žagarėje

LT2015 m. Žagarėje, Gedimino, Kalkių, P. Avižonio, Pakalnės, Raktuvės, Šiaulių, Švėtės, Vilniaus gatvėse ir Miesto aikštėje buvo atlikti žvalgomieji tyrimai bei žvalgymai. Žagarės senamiesčio archeologiniai tyrimai pradėti nuo 1995 m. 2015 m. žvalgomieji tyrimai bei žvalgymai buvo atlikti 25 vandentiekio įvadų ir kanalizacijos išvadų vietose sklypuose Gedimino g. 5 (šurfas 1), Kalkių g. 11 (šurfas 2), Raktuvės g. 1–3 (šurfas 3), Šiaulių g. 9 (šurfas 4), Vilniaus g. 11–5 (šurfas 5), Vilniaus g. 18–4 (šurfas 6), Vilniaus g. 23 (šurfas 7), Vilniaus g. 35 (šurfai 8, 9), P. Avižonio g. 10 (šurfas 10), P. Avižonio g. 4 (šurfas 11), P. Cvirkos g. 29 (šurfas 12), P. Cvirkos g. 25 (šurfai 13,14), Pakalnės g. 3 (šurfas 15), Švėtės g. 11 (šurfas 16), Vilniaus g. 1 (šurfas 17), Vilniaus g. 10A (šurfai 18, 19), Vilniaus g. 13 (šurfas 20), Vilniaus g. 39 (šurfas 21), Vilniaus g. 7 (šurfas 22), P. Cvirkos g. 21 (šurfas 23), P. Cvirkos g. 10 (šurfas 24), Miesto a. 18 (šurfas 25), Vilniaus g. 16 (šurfas 26), Vilniaus g. 27 (šurfas 27), Švėtės g. 3 (perkasa 1) (1 pav.). Sklypuose Vilniaus g. 11 ir Vilniaus g. 18 buvo atlikti žvalgymai, žvalgytos 23 m bendro ilgio trasos. Bendras tirtų įvadų–išvadų ilgis siekia 496 m. Iš viso buvo ištirti 27 šurfai (nuo 1x1 iki 1,5x1 m dydžio) ir 1 perkasa (5x2 m dydžio), bendras ištirtas plotas – 41,25 m2. [...] [p. 394-395].

ENIn 2015, field evaluations and surveys (27 test pits (1x1 m, 1,5x1 m) and one trench (5x2 m), a total of 41.25 m2 ) were conducted at the sites of 25 water and sewer service lines (a total length of 496 m) on private plots on Gedimino, Kalkių, P. Avižonio, Pakalnės, Raktuvės, Šiaulių, Švėtės, and Vilniaus streets and in Miesto square in the city of Žagarė. Cultural layers, 0.75–1.9 m thick, with 17th-20th century finds were discovered during the investigation. On Gedimino street, a 1.05 m thick cultural layer from the late 19th second half of the 20th century was recorded. On Kalkių and Raktuvės Streets, a 19th-20th century cultural layer up to 1 m thick was found. On Šiaulių street, a 0.85-1.05 m thick, 19th-20th century cultural layer with isolated 18th century (?) finds was discovered. On Vilniaus street, 0.75–1.6 m thick, 17th-20th century cultural layers were recorded and the foundations of buildings dating to the late 19th first half of the 20th century were found. On P. Avižonio Street, 0.8–1 m thick, late 19th-20th century cultural layers were recorded. On P. Cvirkos street, cultural layers up to 0.8–1.37 m thick were unearthed. In test pits 13 and 14, a 0.8–0.9 m thick cultural layer with 19th-20th century finds was discovered. In test pits 12 and 23, a 17th-20th century cultural layer up to 1.2 m thick was found. On Pakalnės street, a 70 cm thick layer of grey soil and a 55 cm thick layer of black soil with dolomite chips but no finds were recorded. On Švėtės Street, late 18th(?)-20th century cultural layers were unearthed.
