Žvalgomieji tyrimai Kudirkos Naumiestyje

LT2015 m. buvo tęsiami dar 2011 m. pradėti žvalgomieji tyrimai Kudirkos Naumiesčio istorinio centro (UK 17093) teritorijoje, numatytų vandentiekio bei fekalinės nuotekynės tinklų įrengimo vietose, S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno, Varpo, Tiesos, Šešupės, Kranto, Vytauto, Vilties ir Bažnyčios gatvių atkarpose. 2015 m. buvo iškasti 45 žvalgomieji šurfai, kurių bendras plotas-123,75 m². Pagal tyrimų metu gatvių trasose aptiktus radinius galima spėti, kad seniausia ir intensyviausiai XVI-XIX a. gyventa miesto dalis yra aplink miesto aikštę bei jos R bei PR pusė, Šešupės link, dabartinės V. Kudirkos, S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno bei dabartinės Bažnyčios gatvių PR atkarpa, buvusi Rusų gatvėje. Būtent šioje teritorijoje reikėtų ieškoti senojo Duliebaičių kaimo, minimo 1561 m. spalio 12 d. sudarytame Jurbarko ir Nova Volia (dabar Virbalio) inventoriuje. [...] [p. 287-288].

ENIn 2015, 45 test pits (a total of 123.75 m²) were excavated. The lengths of the city’s streets and blocks, which were laid out in the second half of the 16th century, were similar to the present day lengths, but up until the second half of the 18th century, the houses were concentrated closer to the centre and the dryer parts of the streets. By the 19th century, all of the blocks laid out in the second half of the 16th century had been developed and new streets (Tiesos, Šešupės, Kranto, Vilties, etc.) had appeared on the city’s periphery. Based on the finds discovered on the street routes during the investigation, it is possible to conjecture that the oldest and most intensively developed part of the city during the 16th-19th centuries was around the market square, on its E and SE sides, in the direction of the river Šešupė, the SE segments of present day V. Kudirkos, S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno, and present day Bažnyčios streets, and former Rusų street.
