Генезис Великого Княжества Литовского в исследованиях преподавателей высшей школы Российской империи

ENThe article reveals the views of higher school teachers of the Russian Empire in the XIX - early XX centuries on the problem of the genesis of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, whose works reflected the questions of the causes and time of the formation of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, its ethnic character in the 13th - the first half of the 14th centuries, and as a result of the research, integral scientific concepts were created. The author comes to the conclusion that pre-revolutionary researchers accumulated significant source material, expanded and deepened their ideas on the problem of the genesis and early history of the Duchy, which were developed in Russian historical science from the end of the 18th century and contributed to the creation of fundamental works on the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania that haven’t lost their relevance currently.
