Vilniaus bazilijonų Švč. Trejybės bažnyčios unitų karstų tyrimai

LTPastaraisiais metais vykdomus Vilniaus bazilijonų vienuolyno statinių ansamblio Švč. Trejybės bažnyčios tvarkymo darbus organizuoja ir finansuoja KPD kartu su Šv. Juozapato bazilijonų ordinu. Atliekami pastato fasadų tyrimai, rengiamas jų tvarkybos darbų projektas, atlikti rūsio, esančio prieš pagrindinį altorių, tyrimai. Šiame rūsyje buvo keliasdešimt labai netvarkingai įvairiu metu sumestų karstų su palaidojimais. Nutarta šiuos palaikus, atlikus jų istorinius, archeologinius, antropologinius tyrimus, iškelti ir perlaidoti kitoje vietoje. Tyrimų užsakovai dėl šių darbų atlikimo kreipėsi į VU. Tyrinėtas rūsys buvo 8,7x5,8 m dydžio, 4,32 m aukščio. Skliautas-pusiau cilindrinis. Įėjimo anga rūsyje-2,75 m aukščio, 2,9x1,3 m dydžio. Kitame rūsio gale yra švieslangis. Visas rūsys prikrautas karstų, kurių dalis suirę, tarp jų matėsi pavienių kaulų ir plytgalių. Rūsyje atlikti archeologiniai ir antropologiniai tyrimai. Archeologinę šių tyrimų dalį sudarė rūsio po pagrindiniu altoriumi ir ten buvusių suneštų karstų fiksacija, palaikų ir radinių fiksavimas karstuose. Prie įėjimo buvo 15 karstų, akivaizdu, kad jie sunešti į rūsį vėliausiai, nes buvo netvarkingai sumesti vienas ant kito, užgriozdinę praėjimą. Rūsio viduryje karstų buvo kiek mažiau, bet sumesta daug pavienių karstų lentų, o rūsio gale sukrauta dabar apgriuvusi trijų–keturių aukštų karstų rietuvė, mėtėsi padrikos karstų lentos ir daug, matyt, pro rūsio švieslangį priverstų pavienių žmonių kaulų ir griuvenų. ENDuring recent work in putting holy Trinity Church of the Vilnius basilian monastery building complex in order, the investigation and reburial of the disorderly remains in the crypt in front of the main altar was organised. The entire 8.7x5.8 m crypt was full of coffins, some of which had disintegrated, and among the coffins isolated bones and brickbats were visible. 53 coffins with burials as well as isolated bones ascribable to another roughly 50–60 individuals were discovered during the investigation. The last time a coffin was deposited in the crypt was 1965 because some of the coffins contained pieces of newspaper from that time. Some of the coffins were adorned with religious symbols for Jesus or the Virgin Mary, some with other symbols (e.g. a skull and bones), 14 coffins had the individual’s name, some of the coffins had been painted black and adorned with white crosses, etc. Among the deposited individuals, males predominated, there being only one female. Five well-mummified remains were discovered. Very few clothing and apparel fragments were found, and no footwear. The everyday outerwear of the Uniate clergymen was a long, dark, stand-up collar with a hood with two long, double thickness, cloth lappets in front that fell upon the chest. The only such hood, which was made of thin brown wool, was found together a brown velvet cap in coffin 31. In performing the liturgical rites, Uniate priests must wear an epitrachelion; five epitrachelions or fragments of them were found during the investigation. The mummified remains of a clergyman buried with an epitrachelion were discovered in coffin 49. Some of the finds were articles that had been worn for years or items that the monks had actually used. The first group consists of paramandyai, 36 of which were found.Orthodox monks used to wear them on their back, suspended by four cords under their clothing; the other ends of the cords formed a cross on their chest. Rosary beads (in 12 coffins), medals, crosses, and pouches were also discovered.
