Jurgiškio senosios kapinaitės

LT2015 m. birželio mėnesį, siekiant nustatyti, ar žvyro karjero nustumdytoje atodangos dalyje yra išlikę nesuardytų palaidojimų, taip pat siekiant įvertinti jų chronologiją bei laidojimo paminklo ribas, buvo atlikti archeologiniai žvalgomieji tyrinėjimai bei archeologiniai žvalgymai. Ištirtos 4 5x2 m dydžio žvalgomosios perkasos, žvalgyta apie 4400 m2 teritorija. Iš viso perkasomis (su išpjovomis) iki įžemio buvo ištirtas 41 m2 plotas. Archeologiniai tyrimai parodė, jog karjero atodangos teritorijoje (sprendžiant pagal palaidojimo pobūdį bei kapo 2 krikščionišką orientaciją galva į ŠV) yra buvusios iki tol nežinomos senosios kaimo kapinaitės su išlikusiais apardytais palaidojimais, todėl joms būtina suteikti teisinę apsaugą. Minėtųjų kapinaičių chronologija nenustatyta, kadangi nesurasta jokių datuojančių radinių. [...] [p. 184].

ENIn 2015, in an effort to determine whether undisturbed burials have survived in the part of the Jurgiškis village gravel quarry (Anykščiai district) where the surface has been bulldozed as well as to evaluate the chronology of the burials and the boundaries of the burial site, a field evaluation (four 5 x 2 m trial trenches) and survey (roughly 4400 m2 ) was conducted. Two severely disturbed burials without grave goods were discovered during the investigation. From the isolated bones collected from the surveyed area it was possible to determine that at least 14 individuals had been buried at this site. The sex and age of eight individuals was established. The investigation showed that an unknown old village cemetery with surviving disturbed burials once existed in the exposed area of the quarry (judging from the nature of the burial and the Christian orientation of burial 2 where the head was to the NW).
