A. Girininku. Paviršinius, geofizikinius bei žvalgymus gręžiniais sklypuose atliko dr. G. Piličiauskas (LII). [...] [p. 54].
ENIn 2015, field surveys were conducted at two locations at Šventoji old settlement. The plots at Šviesos St. 18 and 20 were on dry land on the shore of the ancient lagoon lake while the plot at Ošupio takas 21A was in the ancient lake. A fieldwalking survey, a geophysical survey, and an evaluation were conducted on the plots at Šviesos st. 18 and 20. Five test pits (a total of 14 m2 ) were excavated at the sites of magnetic anomalies, two test pits (a total of 8 m2 ) at a site where finds were discovered in ploughed soil, and 12 test pits (a total of 12 m2 ) in a uniform pattern on the remaining area investigated on the plots. It was determined that dry land near the shore had existed at the site of investigated plots. A total of 63 late neolithic finds, which were ascribed to the nearby Šventoji 24 stone age find spot recorded by R. Rimantienė in 1967, were collected during the evaluation. Seven test pits (a total of 28 m2 ) and one 10 x 1 m trial trench were excavated on the 2600 m2 plot at Ošupio takas 21A and at the site of a roughly 60 m long planned communications line. A total of 38 m2 were excavated. Marsh, lacustrine peat, and sapropel layers typical of a former lagoon lake were recorded in the S and NW parts of the plot. A former riverbed or a river meander, which cut through the sediments of the former lagoon lake, was established in the N part of the plot where the test pits and trial trench were excavated.
