Pabartonių akmens amžiaus gyvenvietės I ir II

LT2015 m. vasarą buvo tęsiami žvalgomieji ir detalieji archeologiniai tyrimai Pabartonių akmens amžiaus gyvenviečių I ir II teritorijose. Šių dviejų gretimų akmens amžiaus paminklų tyrimų istorija siekia XX a. pradžią, o patys objektai ne kartą lankyti praėjusiame šimtmetyje, tačiau kryptingai, siekiant suteikti paminklo statusą, šie objektai pradėti žvalgyti tik prieš keliolika metų (ATL 2003 metais, V., 2004, p. 310). Tuo metu tiksliai nustatyti senovės gyvenviečių lokalizaciją nepavyko. 2014 m. į Pabartonis grįžta inicijavus Neries baseino pirminio apgyvendinimo rekonstrukcijos projektą (ATL 2014 metais, V., 2015, p. 32–38). Atlikus žvalgomuosius tyrimus, lokalizuota Pabartonių akmens amžiaus gyvenvietė I, tačiau antroji gyvenvietė nerasta. Dėl to po vienerių metų ekspedicija pratęsta: vykdyti detalieji ir žvalgomieji tyrimai abipus Želmenos upelio, ant antrosios Neries viršsalpinės terasos pakraščio. Ekspedicijos metu buvo iškasinėta 40 m2 prieš metus lokalizuotos Pabartonių akmens amžiaus gyvenvietės I ploto ir iškasti 6 šurfai spėjamoje Pabartonių akmens amžiaus gyvenvietės II vietoje. Atlikus žvalgomuosius tyrimus nustatyta, kad Pabartonių akmens amžiaus gyvenvietė II apima maždaug 500 m2 plotą kairiajame Želmenos upelio krante ir, ko gero, yra gerokai mažesnė nei dešiniajame upelio krante esanti Pabartonių akmens amžiaus gyvenvietė I. ENIn the summer of 2015, 40 m2 were excavated in Pabartoniai stone age settlement I on the right bank of Želmena, a small tributary of the river Neris. A large quantity of valuable archaeological material was discovered during the investigation: 2455 flint and 137 knapped non-flint stone finds, 582 potsherds of different chronological periods, some pieces of clay daub, 17 cartridge cases, ten metal find fragments, one round copper disc (a coin?), and a stone axe fragment. Some organic material related to the Stone Age settlement was also collected: 62 burnt bone fragments, some hazelnut shells, and pieces of charcoal. More than 20 structures associated with the old settlement were discovered, some of which yielded large quantities of flint finds, charcoal, and burnt bone fragments. Nine small stains, which were probably from poles, were unearthed. Three round, dark brown stains without any finds were considered to be the remains of old trunks. According to the flint typology, the earliest possible date for this object is the final palaeolithic-mesolithic, but the site was repeatedly inhabited in the neolithic-bronze age and even later. The most recent finds should be assigned to the mid 20th century. A survey was also conducted on the left bank of the Želmena in order to determine the location of Pabartoniai stone age settlement II. The excavation of six test pits revealed some flint finds and the location of a small stone age site.
