Subačiaus ir Aušros Vartų gatvių sankryža

LT2016 m. rudenį Vilniaus senamiestyje (UK 16073), Subačiaus ir Aušros Vartų gatvių sankryžoje esančioje aikštelėje buvo atlikti žvalgomieji tyrimai, ištirtas 47,25 m2 plotas. Tyrimų metu surinkti archeologiniai radiniai perduoti saugoti į LNM. Iš istorinių šaltinių yra žinoma, jog iki 1945 m. šioje vietoje stovėjo pastatas, kuris po gaisro buvo nugriautas ir jo vietoje įrengta automobilių stovėjimo aikštelė. 1996 m. šioje vietoje tiesiant šiluminę trasą archeologinius tyrimus vykdė Gediminas Gendrėnas. Jis aptiko XVI-XIX a. mūrų liekanų ir XVI-XX a. kultūrinius sluoksnius (LIIR, f. 1, b. 3020) [p. 390].

ENIn 2016, 47.25 m2 were excavated at the site of a carpark at the intersection of Subačiaus and Aušros Vartų streets. The 17th-19th century masonry walls of a building that stood at the site until the mid 20th century were discovered in the excavated areas. Two intersecting walls of the demolished building as well as the remains of two basements were discovered in test pit 1. The remains of a basement and a staircase leading down to it were found in trench 2. An archaeologically valuable cultural layer was discovered only in trench 2 and dated to the 16th-18th centuries.
