Upės gatvė 21

LT2016 m. liepos–rugsėjo mėnesiais "Upės projektai" užsakymu vykdyti archeologiniai tyrimai Upės g. 21 esančiame sklype, kur statomas biurų paskirties pastatas su požemine automobilių stovėjimo aikštele. Šis sklypas anksčiau tyrinėtas du kartus: 2015 m. žvalgomuosius tyrimus atliko Linas Girlevičius. Darbų metu fiksuotas 0,7–3 m storio kultūrinis sluoksnis, aptiktas, kaip spėjama, švedų įtvirtinimų gynybinis griovys, datuojamas 1702 m. Dviejuose šurfuose aptikta žmonių kaulų bei jų nuolaužų-suaugusio individo bei paauglio (ATL 2015 metais, 2016, p. 194–197). 2016 m. tiesiant elektros kabelį žvalgymus atliko Tomas Abraitis. Jų metu fiksuoti piltiniai XX a. sluoksniai. [...] [p. 380].

ENIn 2016, 206 m2 were excavated and 1449 m2 surveyed at Upės st. 21. A cultural layer up to 90 cm thick with an upper horizon dating to the 19th century and a lower one that contained isolated sherds of household pottery and "bowl-shaped" rosette stove tiles from the late 16th–17th centuries were recorded in the W and central parts of the plot. It is conjectured that a wooden fence surrounded the plot at this site in the late 16th–17th centuries and fields used to grow buckwheat and rye existed beside the building complex. A 19th century layer or 20th–21st century fill layers created in laying underground utility lines and during landscaping were recorded in the rest of the plot.
