Senamiesčio gatvė 72D, 72E

LT2016 m. rugpjūčio 25–31 d. atlikti žvalgomieji tyrimai Panevėžio miesto istorinėje dalyje (UK31872), Senamiesčio g. 72D, 72E sklypuose, kur numatoma statyti gyvenamąjį namą. Ši vieta-Panevėžio miesto R dalis, istoriškai vadinama Panevėžio senamiesčiu. Sklypas iš Š ir R pusių ribojasi su Panevėžio miesto senosiomis kapinėmis (UK 21138). Tyrimų vieta yra Nevėžio upės dešiniajame krante, skardyje. Tyrimų metu projektuojamame 826 m2 plote ištirtos 3 perkasos-iš viso 30 m2 plotas. Tyrimų metu surinkta XVII–XX a. būdingų radinių: keraminių, fajansinių ir stiklinių indų šukių, stiklinis butelis, žiedinė segė, odinio bato padas, moneta-iš viso 99 radiniai. ENIn 2016, a field evaluation was conducted on the plots at Senamiesčio st. 72D and 72E in the historical part of Panevėžys. Based on the 1781 plan of Senasis Panevėžys and Mikolajavas, it is seen that the 18th century urban territory of Senasis Panevėžys was still owned by the church and that the location of the town’s central street (Senamiesčio) has remained unchanged. Panevėžys old cemetery, which is marked to the N of the plot, has greatly interested archaeologists. In 2016, three trenches (30 m2 ) were excavated. A find rich 17th–20th century cultural layer up to 1.2 m thick was recorded in trench 1. It contained a late 19th century stone foundation from a SW–NE oriented outbuilding. The foundation was 55 cm wide and up to 57 cm high. Fragments of wooden outbuilding structures and of a former stone foundation were unearthed beneath it. A 17th–18th century dark soil cultural layer horizon containing a ring brooch and sherds of hand thrown pottery was recorded at a depth of 1.55–2.05 m. Natural soil was reached at a depth of 90 cm in trench 2. A 19th–20th century log-lined well was unearthed in trench 3, natural soil at a depth of 1.13 m. In general, the investigation yielded finds characteristic of the 17th–20th centuries: sherds of pottery and faience, glass shards, a glass bottle, a ring brooch, the sole from a leather shoe, and a coin.
