Lapių Šv. Jono Krikštytojo bažnyčios šventorius

LT2016 m. vykdyti detalieji tyrimai Lapių Šv. Jono Krikštytojo bažnyčios šventoriuje (Kauno r., Lapių sen.), numatytoje būsimų lietaus nuotekų tinklų vietoje. Tiksli bažnyčios pastatymo data nėra žinoma. Ankstyviausios istorinės žinios siekia XVII a. laikotarpį, kai 1639 m. gruodžio 30 d. Lapių dvaro savininkas Lonas Laskis, Vitebsko pilininkas, su žmona sudarė donacinį aktą bažnyčiai išlaikyti. Atsižvelgiant į duomenų visumą, darytina prielaida, kad teritorija arčiau bažnyčios galbūt mažiau perkasta ir toje vietoje yra tikimybė aptikti daugiau laidojimo kriptų, ankstesnių kapų ir mažiau suardytą kultūrinį sluoksnį, kurio tyrimai suteiktų vertingos informacijos apie bažnyčios statybos ir rekonstrukcijos etapus. ENThe 2015 investigation in the churchyard of the Lapės (Kaunas district) church of St John the Baptist, which has been known since 1639 was continued in 2016 with the excavation of six trenches (127.7 m2 ) at the site of a future surface water sewer network. The trenches were excavated down to the planned depth of 1.1–1.6 m, during which a disturbed 20th century cultural layer was recorded in almost all of the trenches. Only in trench 5 to the W of the church was a disturbed storage pit with rubble discovered. It is likely that this pit was created in restoring the church after the mid 17th century war, when the building was badly damaged. The pit contained several sherds of household pottery, a stove tile, glass artefacts, and floor tiles. The most interesting find was a fragment of the church’s bell. The contours of 15 grave pits were unearthed in the N, NW, and NE parts of the churchyard. The burials were not excavated and should date to the 19th–20th centuries.
