Summary / Abstract:

LTPušaloto miestelyje (Pasvalio r.) esančio kapinyno (UK 6632) saugomos teritorijos P pusėje yra veikiančios miestelio kapinės, Š ir R pusėse stovi gyvenamieji pastatai. Gavus informacijos, kad už saugomos kapinyno ribos (tiek dabartinių kapinių, tiek aplinkinių sklypų teritorijose) aptinkama archeologinių radinių, nuspręsta atlikti žvalgomuosius tyrimus Pušaloto dabartinių kapinių plėtinio teritorijoje bei Orelių g. 7 sklype. Orelių g. 7 sklype aptikus kapų, atlikti detalieji tyrimai. Bendrai ištirtas 57 m2 plotas (4 perkasos). Pušaloto kapinynas į archeologų akiratį pateko jau XIX a. viduryje. Miestelyje kasant griovius pastatų pamatams, aptikta II–XII a. datuojamų artefaktų. Radiniai pateko į Kauno muziejų-dabartinį VDKM (inv. Nr. 896:1–7). [...] [p. 131].

ENIn 2016, a field evaluation (four trenches, a total of 57 square meters) was conducted at the site near of Pušalotas cemetery. Six inhumations were discovered in trenches 3 and 4. After 35 cm thick black soil, a line of grave pits was found. In a depth of 50 cm, four inhumations were unearthed and only one inhumation was with grave goods: the iron broad–bladed axe, iron knife with straight back, penannular brooch with poppy head terminals, two buckles, the ring with the braided bezel. A posthole was found near the grave pit 4. Only a few human bone fragments were found at the grave 2 (a child, 1–3 years old) and 4 (adult). In all grave pits a large number of stones were found and the burial rites with the fire was identified too. A line of the grave pits and a posthole are dated back to the 12th–13th centuries. Two inhumations 5 and 6 were also unearthed in trench 4. Depending on grave pit characteristics, it can be assumed, that inhumation 5 was a reburial. A two crook–shaped pins were found, which allows the assertion to be made that burial is dated to 8th–9thcentury. In the inhumation 6, a pin with a ring head was found. Thus the burial can be dated back to the 8th–9th centuries.
