Summary / Abstract:

LT2016 m. įgyvendinant Lietuvos mokslo tarybos finansuojamą projektą "Pirmieji indoeuropiečiai Lietuvoje. Virvelinės keramikos kultūra 2900–2400 m. pr. Kr." (LIP–011/2016), finansuojamą Lietuvos mokslo tarybos pagal Valstybinę lituanistinių tyrimų ir sklaidos 2016– 2024 m. programą, vyko archeologiniai tyrimai Nidos senovės gyvenvietėje (UK 26019) (Neringos sav.). Nidos senovės gyvenvietės tyrimai tęsiasi su pertraukomis jau keletą amžių. 1974–1978 m. R. Rimantienė ištyrė apie 4640 m2 dydžio plotą, surinko daugiau nei 100 tūkst. vienetų keramikos šukių, suregistravo daugybę stulpaviečių, židinių ir kt. radinių (ATL 1974 ir 1975 metais, 1976, p. 5–10; ATL 1976–1977 metais, 1978, p. 77–83; ATL 1978 ir 1979 metais, 1980, p. 16–19). Nedidelio masto žvalgomojo pobūdžio tyrimai vyko 2011–2013 m. (ATL 2011 metais, 2012, p. 26–30; ATL 2012 metais, 2013, p. 30–33; ATL 2013 metais, 2014, p. 30–33). 2016 m. tyrimų tikslai buvo du: gręžiniais ir šurfais patikrinti 2013 m. pagal profiliavimo georadaro duomenis sudarytą paleoreljefo rekonstrukciją, taip pat ištiriant perkasą surinkti reprezentatyvų kiekį sudegusių augalų liekanų makrobotaniniams tyrimams. ENIn 2016, in implementing the project first indo-europeans in Lithuania. Corded Ware Culture, 2900–2400 cal bc (LIP–011/2016), which is financed by the Research Council of Lithuania, an investigation was conducted at Nida Old Settlement (UK 26019) (Neringa Municipality) in order to check the palaeorelief reconstruction created on the basis of 2013 georadar profiling and to collect a representative quantity of burnt plant remains for macrobotanical examination. During the evaluation 30 2–4 m deep boreholes were drilled and 3 test pits (3.8 m2 ) and 1 trench (21 m2 , of which 6 m2 were down to natural soil) were excavated. In the trench, a 0.6–1.9 m thick archaeological layer was discovered and wet sieved using 1 mm mesh. A total of 803 flint flakes and artefacts (290 g), 2428 finds made of other stone (19 288 g), 6719 sherds of hand built pottery (22 726 g), and 452 pieces of raw amber, flakes, and artefacts (95 g) were found. 13 features: 3 fire sites and 10 postholes were recorded. The absolute majority of the finds and features should be ascribed to the Late Bay Coast culture settlement (2800–2600 cal bc). Around 100 (about 200 g) of pottery sherds with very fine organic temper were classified as Sub-Neolithic and date to the second half of the 4th millennium bc. They probably found their way into the Neolithic settlement’s layer together with diluvium as well as through bioturbation. This is the first time a huge collection of zooarchaeological and macrobotanical material has been collected at Nida because wet sieving and flotation had previously not been employed with the layer. Thousands of burnt bone fragments were collected at the fire sites and beside them. The burnt plant remains were floated from 960 l of soil from the archaeological layer. The laboratory testing is ongoing.
