Tyrimai Gargždų miesto parke 2016 m

LT2016 m. Gargždų miesto (Klaipėdos r.) senojo ir naujojo parko teritorijos dalyse, esančiose aukštutinėje Minijos upės terasoje ir jos slėnio šlaite, buvo atlikti žvalgomieji tyrimai. 1672 m. Gargždų miestelio ir valsčiaus inventoriuje trumpai aprašytas ir Gargždų dvaras, jame stovėję pastatai. Išsamesnis dvaro sodybos aprašymas pateikiamas 1769 m. Gargždų seniūnijos inventoriuje, kuriame minima, kad į dvaro kiemą patenkama pro dvivėrius medinius vartus-"bromą". II Pasaulinio karo Tarybų Sąjungos karių palaidojimo vietos (UK 10967) aplinkoje buvo ištirtos penkios 5x2 m dydžio perkasos (50 m2 plotas). Perkasose 1, 4, 5 palaidojimų nerasta; perkasoje 2 aptiktos 4 buvusių perlaidotų kapų duobės; perkasoje 3 fiksuoti 2 kapai su palaikais. [...] [p. 629-630].

ENIn 2016, test pits and trenches (a total of 181.75 m2 ) were excavated in a roughly 85 105 m2 area in Gargždai city (Klaipeda district) Park. Four already exhumed grave pits and pits still containing remains were discovered in the vicinity of a burial site for Second World War Soviet soldiers. Fragments of a fence and three building foundations were found in the SW part of the park. After comparing the present day situation with the 1886 plan of Gargždai, it is possible to state that the remains of fragments of the manor that existed in Gargždai in the 19th early 20th century were discovered in the test pits. 37 finds, the majority of which consisted of sherds of household pottery: vases, pots, and jars, were discovered during the investigation. Metal artefacts: nails, horseshoes, and a door hinge, glass bottle shards, and one stove tile were also found. The finds date to the late 18th early 20th century.
