LT2017 m. Anot R. Sesickio, XX a. 9 dešimtmetyje ją dar žymėjo skarda ir akmuo. Vietinių gyventojų žodžiais, čia palaidotas 1944 m. birželio–liepos mėnesiais dalinio evakuacijos metu žuvęs vokiečių karys – karininkas ar puskarininkis. [...] [p. 611].
ENIn 2017, a search was conducted near the Šumskas–Kyviškė railway line in Sadūniškiai village (Vilnius district) for the remains of german soldiers who perished during the Second World War. According to data supplied by local people, a german soldier, an officer or NCO who died during the June-July 1944 evacuation of his unit, was buried there. A 21.5 m2 trench was excavated and two individuals were discovered interred in separate pits at a depth of 40–60 cm. The dead were oriented N–S with their heads to the S. The first burial had been disturbed with only some of the arm and leg bones in their primary position. Based on information supplied by local inhabitants, the remains could belong to a soldier from a Red Army tank unit. In the second half of the 20th century, his remains could have been reburied in a centralised cemetery. 60 cm to the W of this burial, the grave of a German soldier was found. The soldier, aged 50 years or more, belonged to a reserve cavalry unit transporting ammunition, food, or correspondence according to the identification tag found beside him.
