Vokiečių karių kapų Juodaičiuose ekshumacija 2016 m

LT2016 m. Jurbarko r., netoli Juodaičių miestelio (Juodaičių sen.) vykdyti II Pasaulinio karo vokiečių karių palaikų ekshumavimo darbai. Pirminių ir tiksliausių duomenų apie palaidojimą gauta iš tyrimų užsakovo-VDK. Tai buvo keli scheminiai vietovės ir kapavietės planeliai bei trumpa informacija apie vieno iš čia palaidotų karių mirties aplinkybes. Šias žinias patvirtino ir papildė įvykių liudininko, 1929 m. gimimo Juodaičių gyventojo Vladislovo Balčaičio atsiminimai, užrašyti kraštotyrininko Vinco Kriščiūno knygoje "Nekviesti" (2013). Kadangi iš kelių šaltinių gauta informacija sutapo, nurodytoje vietoje nuspręsta atlikti tyrimus ir ekshumavimo darbus. [...] [p. 599].

ENIn 2016, a 27 m2 trench was excavated in the vicinity of Juodaičiai (Jurbarkas district) and the remains of six Second World War german soldiers exhumed. This is the legacy of a dressing station created at the former Šagžas farmstead in August 1944. Four grave pits arranged in a single row were discovered. Three pits, each roughly 2x0.6 m in size, contained individual burials. Another three soldiers were interred in a single, roughly 2x2 m pit. The remains were found at a depth of 40–90 cm. A few clothing remnants were discovered near only two sets of remains. The rest had only identification tags (4 tags) or nothing at all. Blackish cloth, the remains of uniforms or ponchos, lay under almost all of the bones of the remains at the bottom of the grave pits. The soldiers probably belonged to infantry or motorised infantry (Ger. Panzergrenadier) units. The remains belonged to 18–35 year-old males. Changes and defects associated with heavy physical loads were recorded. Fractures were recorded in the femurs of two soldiers. The fractures of both femurs of one of them had been stabilised by a wooden plank with iron fittings.
