Summary / Abstract:

LT2017 m. Žagarėje (Joniškio r.), sklypuose Kalkių g. 2 ir Tilto g. 8, vandentiekio įvadų ir nuotekų išvadų vietose AC atliko detaliuosius tyrimus. Jų metu iki įžemio ištirtos 2 perkasos. Sklype Kalkių g. 2 ištirta perkasa 1 (5 m2 ), o Tilto g. 8-perkasa 2 (23,3 m2 ). Bendras tyrinėtas plotas siekė 28,3 m2 . Senosios Žagarės vietoje, namo Kalkių g. 2 aplinkoje 2011 m. kasinėjo V. Juškaitis. Arčiausiai planuotos perkasos ištirta 87,3x1–2,2 m dydžio (119,15 m2 ) perkasa 7. Giliau nei 15 cm gylyje joje fiksuotas 40–90 cm storio pilkos žemės sluoksnis su XIX–XX a. radiniais (ATL 2011 metais, 2012, p. 541–544). 2015 m. sklype Kalkių g. 2 vieną šurfą ištyrė E. Simanavičiūtė. Po viršutiniais horizontais 50–60 cm gylyje fiksuotas sluoksnis su XVIII(?)–XIX a. radiniais (ATL 2015 metais, 2016, p. 398–401). [...] [p. 511].

ENIn 2017, an excavation (two trenches) was conducted on the plot at Kalkių st. 2 (trench 1,5 m2 ) and Tilto st. 8 (trench 2,23.3 m2 ) in Žagarė (Joniškis District, North Lithuania). A 0.75–1.7 m thick, 19th–20th century cultural layer with finds was discovered in trench 1. The 19th century layer was found only in a 3 x 0.5 m area at a depth of 0.5–1.7 m in the centre of the trench. Three pit contours, which went down to a depth of 1.3–1.7 m, were recorded at this location. 19th century finds were discovered in their fill. In trench 2, a0.85–1.95 m thick, 18th early 21st century cultural layer was recorded. In a 13 m long segment to the NW of the residential home, an 18th first half of the 19th-century layer was discovered at a depth of 0.55–1.95 m. A pit contour at least 6 m in diameter was recorded at this location. Fragments of earthenware vessels deformed during firing as well as panel stove tiles (Blattkacheln) and a plate were found in the pit’s fill. The investigation showed that the pit could have been filled in the late 18th first half of the 19th century. In a 20.5 m long trench segment to the NE of the residential home, 18th first half of the 19th century layers had survived fragmentally at a depth of 0.5–1.05 m.
