Lukiškių aikštė bei gatvė

LTVisuomenės džiaugsmui 2017 m. lapkritį buvo baigta dvejus metus trukusi Lukiškių aikštės ir jos prieigų rekonstrukcija. Paskutiniuosius statybos darbus Š dalyje vykdė keletas įmonių, tad aikštėje dirbo dvi archeologų grupės-KVP (vadovas L. Kvizikevičius) ir IĮ "O. Fediajevo firma" specialistai (vadovė M. Žemantauskaitė; šių tyrimų rezultatus žr. p. 459–470). Pažymėtina, kad dažnu atveju dirbta greta (kartais netgi 2–5 m atstumu). Pirmieji archeologiniai tyrimai Lukiškių aikštėje vykdyti 1992 m., vadovaujant K. Katalynui (LIIR, f. 1, b. 1957). Jų metu ištirta 10 šurfų ir viena perkasa-bendras 63,3 m2 plotas, virš įžemio-žvyro, pasiekto 0,5–2,3 m gylyje, rasti XVI–XX a. sluoksniai su retais šio laiko radiniais. Panašūs rezultatai gauti 2004 (K. Katalynas -žr. ATL 2004 metais, 2006, p. 370) ir 2015 m. (S. Širvydaitė-žr. ATL 2016 metais, 2017, p. 367–371). Pradėjus Lukiškių aikštės rekonstrukciją 2016 m., vykdyti jos detalieji tyrimai (A. Vaitkuvienė-žr. p. 459–470). [...] [p. 406].

ENIn 2017, an investigation was conducted in Lukiškės square and street. 16 test pits (a total of 40.5 m2 ) and two trenches (a total of 145 m2 ) were excavated and roughly 1500 m2 were surveyed. In addition, another roughly 2500 m2 area was surveyed in the carriageway of Lukiškių Street and its approaches. The excavation went down to a depth of 40–50 cm in Lukiškių Street and the upper road surfaces as well as the second half of the 19th early 20th or late 20th century layers existing below it were recorded. Natural soil was reached in Lukiškės Square at a depth of 0.8–1.6 m; above it lay a 19th first half of the 20th century cultural layer. The remains of a late 17th early 18th-century building were also discovered at a depth of 40–50 cm in the NE part of the square. 17th–20th century structural ceramics and household pottery and second half of the 16–20th century coins were found during the investigation.
