Atgimimo aikštė

LT2017 m. Klaipėdos mieste, Atgimimo aikštėje atlikti žvalgomieji tyrimai. 2014 m. Atgimimo aikštės centrinėje dalyje tirtos 3 perkasos (1–3), kurių bendras plotas 60 m2 . Perkasose aptikta suardytų XIX-XX a. pastatų liekanų bei fiksuoti XVII-XVIII a. archeologiniai sluoksniai, kurie sietini su Krūmamiesčio priemiesčiu (ATL 2014 metais, 2015, p. 331–337). 2017 m. pratęsti 2014 m. tyrimai, papildomai ištirta viena 5x2 m dydžio perkasa aikštės P dalyje, siekiant aptikti buvusio ravelino šlaito ir griovio vietą, likusioje aikštės dalyje ištirti 5 2x2 m dydžio šurfai (bendrai ištirtas 30 m2 plotas). 2017 m. rasta XVII-XIX a. datuojamų radinių. Dauguma jų (54 šukės) yra buitinės keramikos (molinių lėkščių, puodų, puodynių, keptuvių šukių, akmens masės indų), nedaug rasta plokščiųjų koklių, dengtų juoda glazūra, fragmentų, stiklinių butelių duženų, kaolino pypkučių kotelių ir odinių batų fragmentų. ENIn 2017, a field evaluation (one 5 x 2 m trench), a continuation of a 2014 investigation, was conducted in the S part of Atgimimo square, Klaipėda, in order to find the former ravelin scarp and ditch site, which had survived in the part of the square evaluated by five 2x2 m test pits (a total of 30 m2). The 2017 evaluation recorded cultural layers up to 3 m thick and dating to the 17th-20th centuries. Analogous layers were also discovered during the 2014 investigation. An archaeologically valuable and scientifically important, second half of the 18th–first half of the 19th century cultural layer was discovered at a depth of roughly 2-2.2 m in trench 1 and test pit 3. The 60–80 cm thick layer consists of black peaty soil with organic matter and finds. A second half of the 18th first half of the 19th century cultural layer that had formed under the fill at the ravelin ditch site was recorded in trench 1. Below it (to a depth of 4 m, Habs –0.20 m), alluvial grey sand with fine rubble was recorded. This layer possibly formed at the ditch site in the 17th first half of the 18th century. The remains of late 19th mid 20th century development: building foundations, brick and concrete floors, and stone paving were discovered in 2017. In 2017, 17th-19th century finds were discovered: sherds of household pottery (earthenware plates, pots, jars, and frying pans, and stoneware vessels), fragments of black glazed panel stove tiles (Blattkacheln), glass bottle shards, kaolin pipe stem fragments, and parts of leather shoes.
