Puodžių gatvė 22 ir Smalininkų gatvė 2

LT2017 m. rugsėjį – 2018 m. sausį Kaune vykdyti detalieji tyrimai ir žvalgymai greta esančiuose sklypuose Puodžių g. 22 ir Smalininkų g. 2 bei Smalininkų ir Puodžių gatvėse, būsimos šiluminės trasos vietoje. Detaliaisiais tyrimais ištirtas bendras 224 m2 plotas, žvalgytas 36,5 m2 plotas. Tirti sklypai yra Kauno senamiesčio 27 kvartalo Š–ŠR dalyse, dalis Smalininkų gatvėje tirtos perkasos 1 patenka į 25 kvartalo P kampą. Šių sklypų istorinė urbanistinė raida netyrinėta. Senieji kvartalai planuoti ir apgyvendinti XVI a. viduryje prie kelio, ėjusio iš Rotušės aikštės senojo Vilniaus vieškelio link. Tai dabartinės Kurpių, Muitinės ir Puodžių gatvės. XVI-XVIII a. Kauno magistrato ir vaito knygų įrašuose 27 kvartale minimi tik mediniai pastatai, stovintys iš dalies nuomojamuose sklypuose. Dauguma įrašuose minimų sklypų nuomininkų buvo miesto amatininkai. Fragmentiškos istorinės medžiagos kvartalų istorijai teikia XVIII-XIX a. Kauno miesto planai. Daugumoje XVIII a. miesto planų kvartalų ribose pastatai nepavaizduoti. Tik 1796 m. plane prie dabartinės Puodžių g. 27 kvartale pažymėti keturi galais į gatvę stovintys pastatai. [...] [p. 306].

ENDuring the 2017–2018 excavation (a total of 224 m2 ) at Smalininkų st. 2, Puodžių st. 22, Kaunas, late 16th-20th century, 0.35-2.5 m thick cultural layers were recorded. Wall and foundation fragments of two separate Gothic buildings that stood on the plot in the late 16th mid 17th century were unearthed in trenches 4 and 5 at Puodžių St. 22. The 9.6 m long, up to 2.4 m high fragment of a building wall with an arched foundation discovered in trench 4 was created using various sized (50 x 20-60 x 40 cm) fieldstones and 30 x 14 x 7 cm (Gothic proportions) red bricks bound with lime mortar. An arch fragment with a lintel consisting of a plane made of a single row of bricks with analogous Gothic proportions is distinguishable in the wall fragment. The building wall in trench 5 was up to 1.45 m long, 1.35 m high, and consisted of various sized (11 x 10-35 x 20 cm) fieldstones and 6.5 x 18-9 x 10 cm brick fragments. A 3.5 m long, 5.5 m wide cellar vault with a foundation was unearthed at Smalininkų st. 2. The vault had been created using Gothic bricks that are from 30 x 14 x 7 cm to 28 x 13.5 x 7.5 cm in size and date from the 1570s-1590s to the first half of the 17th century.
