J. Bielinio, Reformatų, J. Radvilos ir Pilies gatvės

LT2017 m. Biržuose, J. Bielinio, Pilies, J. Radvilos ir Reformatų gatvėse, prieš vykdant požeminių elektros ir dujotiekio trasų tiesimo darbus, žvalgomųjų tyrimų metu ištirti 25 1x1 m dydžio šurfai (bendras 25 m2 dydžio plotas). Ištyrus šurfus, didžioji dalis trasų klota uždaru būdu, o Reformatų gatvėje trasos perkeltos į kitą gatvės atšaką, nes jos buvo suprojektuotos buvusių reformatų kapinių teritorijoje, o apskaitos spinta-virš XVIII a. kriptų. 414 m ilgio atviru būdu kastose tranšėjose žvalgytas 130 m2 dydžio plotas. ENIn 2017, 25 test pits (a total of 25 m2 ) were excavated and a field survey was conducted (a total of 130 m2 ) on J. Bielinio, Pilies, J. Radvilos, and Reformatų streets in the central part of Biržai old town. A 17th century, 35–55 cm thick, grey cultural layer that contained some potsherds and a stove tile fragment was unearthed at a depth of 60–70 cm in test pit 2 in J. Bielinio Street. A 17th century, roughly 60 cm thick, grey cultural layer that contained potsherds and stove tile fragments was unearthed at a depth of 65-80 cm in test pit 7. A 10-15 cm thick cultural layer dating to the second half of the 16th first half of the 17th century was unearthed at a depth of 1.15–1.55 m in test pits 6, 10, and 11 in J. Radvilos and Pilies streets. This layer was covered by a mixed brown clay layer from the reconstruction of Biržai Castle’s defensive structures (ditches) in the mid-17th century. A 17th second half of the 19th-century burial was partially unearthed at a depth of 1.7 m in test pit 2 in Reformatų street.
