Laisvės efektas abipus Atlanto: Aleksandra Fledžinskaitė-Kašubienė (Kasuba) ir Kazimiera Zimblytė (Kazė)

LTŠį straipsnį inspiravo autorės surengta aplinkos menininkės Aleksandros Fledžinskaitės-Kašubienės (Kasubos) paroda „Formuojant ateitį. Erdvinės Aleksandros Kasubos aplinkos“ (2021 m. kovo 25–birželio 5 d., Nacionalinė dailės galerija, Vilnius). Savo vientisumu ir vizionieriškų polėkių išsipildymu analogų Lietuvos modernizacijos raidoje neturinti unikali septynių dešimtmečių kūrybinių ieškojimų istorija papasakota pasitelkus menininkės 2014–2019 m. muziejui padovanotus 205 darbus, sukurtus 1942–2018 m., ir 8000 vnt. skaitmeninių vaizdų archyvą. Paroda liudijo 1944 m. į Vakarus pasitraukusios ir JAV nuo XX a. 6 deš. plėtojusios kūrybinę karjerą menininkės nuostatą, kad „kūrėjo raida yra nulemta tik jo paties arts, the conceptualisation of crafts practices, the existentialist philosophy of Sartre and Camus that echoed the experiences of post- war intellectuals, their aspiration for artistic autonomy expressed under the conditions of different political, economic, sociocultural and technological realities united their processes of creative searching, ultimately expressed as opening up to new opportunities (Aleksandra) and distancing one’s self from the official reality (Kazė). nuosprendžių bei pastangų, nesvarbu, kokioje santvarkoje jis ar ji gyventų“ [p. 127].

ENThe text compares the work of two women visionaries who lived during the Cold War era on both sides of the Atlantic – in the United States and the Lithuanian SSR – Aleksandra Kasuba (1923–2019) and Kazimiera Zimblytė, Kazė (1933–1999), looking at their creative searching in finding an answer to the question: how much influence on one’s work does the regime under which an artist lives have? A sensitive approach to nature of both artists, the environment, their attraction to the applied arts, the conceptualisation of crafts practices, the existentialist philosophy of Sartre and Camus that echoed the experiences of post- war intellectuals, their aspiration for artistic autonomy expressed under the conditions of different political, economic, sociocultural and technological realities united their processes of creative searching, ultimately expressed as opening up to new opportunities (Aleksandra) and distancing one’s self from the official reality (Kazė).
