Onos Katauskienės margučių istorijos

LTOna Katauskienė (1916–2013) – neįprastų margučių su išraižytomos istorijomis margintoja. Lietuvos nacionalinio dailės muziejaus (LNDM) rinkinyje yra penkiolika šios autorės margučių, margintų 1975 m. Devyni buvo nupirkti 1975 m., šeši į eksponatų sąrašą įtraukti 1991 m. įsisenėjimo tvarka. Muziejaus dokumentuose jokių duomenų, išskyrus margintojos vardą ir pavardę bei gyvenamąją vietą, neužfiksuota. Čia siekiama pristatyti savitus O. Katauskienės iš Tauragės rajono margučius, papildyti žinias apie jos gyvenimą, įvertinti autorės kūrinių išskirtinumą bendrame LNDM margučių rinkinio kontekste [p. 88].

ENOna Katauskienė (1916–2013) is a decorator of unusual traditional Lithuanian Easter eggs (margutis) featuring carved stories. The collections of the LNMA have 15 such eggs by this author, decorated in 1975. The museum documentation had no record except for her name and surname and place of residence. The Easter eggs decorated by this woman in the village of Sungailiškiai are unique, combining illustrations and fragments of text. Reality and fantasy intertwine in the stories with elements of oral folklore. Realistic life scenes, sometimes playful, sometimes banal, are depicted on the eggs themselves. The characters in Katauskienė’s Easter egg stories live between the village and nature, their existence is woven between reality and fantasy, plus there are also some historical narratives. These primitivistic Easter eggs stand out in the Lithuanian Easter egg decorating tradition and the LNMA Easter egg collection, making them extraordinarily interesting pieces.
