ENWorks by Eglė Ridikaitė created from 2017 were presented at the Museum of Applied Arts and Design in the autumn of 2021 in the exhibition titled link. The curators Laima Kreivytė and Agnė Narušytė, together with architect Justinas Dūdėnas and designer Agnė Dautartaitė-Krutulė, transformed the top floor hall into a kind of shrine whose three “naves” were formed by walls hung between the columns. The works featured in this exhibition, not related by one theme or attention to one type of obejct, indicate a particular direction – namely, the artist’s never-ending journey towards a clarity of mind. For Ridikaitė, fragments of forgotten, erased, disrupted or buried beauty serve as pointers towards a love connection that left a trace of faith inspiring her to go further. Each painting is a step taken towards another person, albeit rejected and halted or abandoned. The exhibition presents the artist’s relationship not just with people, but also with places – Vilnius itself, its lost buildings and sacred spaces.
