Žvalgomieji tyrimai Kvietiniuose

LTKvietinių senovės gyvenvietė (UK 39370) (Klaipėdos r., Dauparų–Kvietinių sen.) yra Minijos slėnyje, jos dešiniajame krante esančioje terasoje, pievoje. Nuo salpos ją skiria iki 2 m aukščio status šlaitelis, rodantis greta buvusią upės senvagę. Gyvenvietę kerta 2 vienas greta kito nutiesti magistraliniai dujotiekiai: 1967– 1968 m. paklotas Panevėžys–Šiauliai–Klaipėda ir 2015 m. – Klaipėda–Kuršėnai. Kvietinių pilkapynas (UK 6187) yra toje pačioje terasoje kaip ir gyvenvietė, į R nuo jos, miške. Pilkapių kauburiai netaisyklingi, gerokai išpustyti, kai kurie abejotini. Kvietinių pilkapynas minimas VAK bylose, tačiau archeologiniai kasinėjimai čia pradėti tik 2014 m. [...] [p. 40].

ENIn 2017, a survey (fieldwalking, metal detector, coring, shovel testing, and test pitting) was conducted on and around Kvietiniai Barrow Cemetery and in the territory of Kvietiniai Ancient Settlement (Klaipėda district) in order to obtain a clearer understanding of the size of the territory of the settlement and the barrow cemetery, which were investigated in 2015, and to search for new archaeological objects on the banks of the river Minija. A total of 1.26 ha was surveyed using fieldwalking and a metal detector, 217 boreholes were drilled, 17 shovel test pits were dug, and 13 test pits (a total of 19.5 m2 ) were excavated. This investigation yielded 454 finds. About 100 m to the E of the 2015 investigation area, palaeosoil and a few artefacts, including a flint scraper, were found on the same river terrace. Further to the NE and a little higher, a new multi-period, unstratified settlement: Kvietiniai II was found. It contained two types of pottery: grog tempered and granite tempered. Kvietiniai Ancient Settlement II can be assigned to the neolithic corded ware culture and the first millennium bc on the basis of the pottery typology and direct analogies with Kvietiniai Ancient Settlement.
