Rūkymo įtaka gydytojų ir gydytojų rezidentų nerimo ir depresijos simptomams

LTŠio straipsnio tikslas – nustatyti gydytojų ir gydytojų rezidentų depresijos ir nerimo simptomų sąsają su rūkymu. Tyrimo medžiaga ir metodai. 2022–2023 m. vykdyta anoniminė savanoriška apklausa, kurios metu naudojant klausimyną vertintas depresijos simptomų pasireiškimas pagal Beko depresijos skalę ir nerimo simptomų pasireiškimas pagal Beko nerimo skalę. Apklausoje dalyvavo 115 Lietuvos gydytojų ir gydytojų rezidentų. Respondentų amžiaus vidurkis buvo 33 ± 9,5 metų. Rezultatai ir išvados. Tyrimas atskleidė ryšį tarp rūkymo trukmės, aplinkos veiksnių ir nuotaikos įtakos rūkančių asmenų depresijos simptomų pasireiškimui. Nustatyta teigiama depresijos simptomų atsiradimo koreliacija pagal rūkymo trukmę (p <0,05). Aplinkos veiksniai ir nuotaika taip pat turėjo įtakos depresijos simptomų pasireiškimui (p <0,05). Rūkymo būdas, suvartojamų tabako gaminių kiekis depresijos simptomams įtakos neturėjo. Tyrimo metu nenustatyta ryšio tarp rūkymo ir nerimo simptomų. Siekdami išvengti žalos psichikos sveikatai bei sumažinti nerimo ir depresijos simptomus, rūkantys asmenys turėtų nutraukti tabako gaminių vartojimą. ENThe aim of this article is to review the influence of smoking on anxiety and depression symptoms among physicians and medical residents. Material and methods. Anonymous voluntary survey was conducted in 2022-2023. The survey included a questionnaire to assess the occurrence of depressive symptoms according to the Beck Depression Inventory and the occurrence of anxiety according to the Beck Anxiety Inventory. 115 Lithuanian doctors and medical residents participated in the survey. The average age of the respondents was 33 ± 9.5 years. Results and conclusions. The study revealed the relationship between the duration of smoking, environmental factors and the influence of mood on the occurrence of depressive symptoms. A positive correlation was found for the occurrence of depressive symptoms according to the duration of smoking (p <0.05). Environmental factors and mood also influenced the manifestation of depressive symptoms (p <0.05). The way of using tobacco and the amount of tobacco products consumed did not affect the symptoms of depression. During the study, no relationship between smoking and anxiety symptoms was found. To prevent mental health problems and reduce anxiety and depression symptoms, smokers should stop using tobacco products. Keywords: smoking, depression, anxiety, doctors, mental health.
