Summary / Abstract:

LTUAB ,,Eikos Statyba“, vykdydama Reformatų skvero ir Vilniaus evangelikų reformatų Sinodo pastato ir kitų objektų komplekso (Vilnius, Reformatų skveras 1) (UK 33214) atnaujinimo darbus, užsakė archeologinius tyrimus. 1979 m. tiesiant inžinerinius tinklus į J. Basanavičiaus g. 7 statomą banką, aptikta mūrų liekanų (rūsys, arkiniai pamatai). A. Lisankos atliktų žvalgymų vietoje atidengti XVII a. datuojamų mūrų fragmentai, tyrimų metu surastos kelios XV–XVI a. datuojamos šukės. Kultūrinis sluoksnis nerastas (LIIR, f. 1, b. 716). 1981 m. tuometiniame Komjaunimo gatvės skvere (dabar Reformatų skveras) A. Lisanka ištyrė 28 m plotą, rado iki 2,7 m storio XVII–XVIII a. kultūrinį sluoksnį ir suardytus to paties laikotarpio kapus. Šių tyrimų ataskaita liko neparengta. 1992 m. sklype Pylimo g. 7 T. Poška vykdė žvalgomuosius tyrimus, kurių metu ištyrė bendrą 31 m2 plotą. [...]. [Iš teksto, p. 263]

ENIn 2018, a non-destructive investigation of 2063.2 m2 using georadar was conducted during Stage I and recorded only one stronger anomaly. In the rest of the investigated area, the signals were very weak and so the non-destructive investigation yielded no tangible results. During the evaluation, 16 test pits were excavated at the sites of future communications lines and 10 trenches at the sites of suspected buildings and structures; in all 184 m2 was excavated. From the evaluation, it is clear that the ground’s surface in the square constantly changed and was not level in various places. The boundaries of the former Reformed cemetery were defined on the basis of material from archaeological investigations, historical sources, and plans. The burials discovered in Trenches 8 and 10 and in Test Pit 1 show that the cemetery occupied a far greater area than is shown in historical sources and plans. As suspected, the remains of the Šreteris Chapel were discovered in Trench 1. The remains of the Vinholdas (Vinandus) Chapel were found in Trench 4, its location coinciding with the chapel location shown in the 1938 plan. The N part of the consistory chamber was discovered in Trench 6; part of this building was also discovered during a 1979 survey by A. Lisanka in laying a sewer line. The SE exterior corner of the consistory chamber was discovered in Test Pit 8. The exterior of the S wall, a floor fragment from the ground floor, and the interior of the collapsed cellar were unearthed during the survey. The foundation of the suspected wooden Reformed Church was found in Trench 9. A stone wall bound with clay was discovered at this location. A building’s interior corner and two walls were encountered in the trench. [From the publication]
