Европейское наследие "Между прошлым и будущим..."

ENThe article of the head of the EHU Department of Humanities and Arts Prof. Aliaksei Makhnach is devoted to the conceptualization of European heritage and European intellectual tradition and its use as a core content of the liberal arts programs in EHU. The heritage itself is a triangle consisting of the valuable artefact, tradition and a human, able to read and perceive the culture. The main concern of humanities education is of course the human and his understanding, seen not as a merely cognitive ability, but as a practical ability to act. This is why we use experimental formats of educational process, first of all a project approach and an emotional immersion in the cultural environment of major European cities: Vilnius, Florence, St. Petersburg and Athens.
