Muitinės gatvė 2

LT2019 m. spalio – 2020 m. sausio mėnesiais atlikti detalieji tyrimai Muitinės g. 2 pastate Kaune. Pastatą rekonstruojant vieną Š korpuso palei Muitinės gatvę I aukšto patalpą buvo numatyta įgilinti iki 3,5–4 m ir joje įrengti laiptinę, liftą neįgaliųjų reikmėms ir pagalbines patalpas. Tyrinėtos patalpos vietoje rūsio nebuvo, todėl čia vykdyti detalieji tyrimai. 2019 m. lapkričio mėnesį taip pat vyko žvalgymai (7 m2) įvažiavime į Muitinės g. 2 Š kiemą kastos tranšėjos elektros kabeliui vietoje. Kauno pranciškonų vienuolynas ir bažnyčia Nemuno pakrantėje pastatyti XV a. pradžioje. Manoma, kad LDK didysis kunigaikštis Vytautas Švč. Mergelės Marijos Dangun Ėmimo bažnyčią statė norėdamas atsidėkoti už išsigelbėjimą Vorsklos mūšyje. Vienuolyno pastatas ir kiti ūkiniai statiniai pastatyti į Š nuo bažnyčios – tarp Muitinės, V. Kuzmos gatvių ir Nemuno kranto. Kartu su bažnyčia jie sudarė vieningą aptvertą kompleksą. [...] [p. 225].

ENIn 2019–2020, an excavation (a total of 33 m2) was conducted in a ground floor room of the streetfront N building at Muitinės St. 2, Kaunas. The investigation recorded a 3.7 m thick cultural layer with 5 distinguishable horizons. To a depth of 50 cm lay a horizon from the second half of the 20th century, from 50 cm to 2–2.3 m one from the 19th century, from 2.3 to 2.7 m one from the first half of the 16th century, and at a depth of 2.7–3.3 m one from the mid – second half of the 15th century. A 1–1.7 m thick, 18th-century horizon was recorded in the cross-section under a 19th-century arch. Two archaeological structures were discovered during the excavation: a late 19th-century arched foundation and a fragment of the base of a stove, probably industrial, from the first half of the 16th century. 15th–19th-century finds were also discovered.
