Tyrimai Aukštumalos akmens amžiaus gyvenvietėse

LT2019 m. liepą toliau vykdyti detalieji ir žvalgomieji tyrimai Aukštumalos (Lapalių) akmens amžiaus gyvenvietėse I ir III. Jie vykdyti pagal mokslo projektą „Mezolito–neolito žmonės ir Baltijos jūra: reliktiniai krantai po vandeniu ir krante. ReCoasts & People“ (09.3.3– LMT–K–712–01–0171). Aukštumalos senovės gyvenvietėje I (UK 3375) bei 2018 m. naujai surastoje Aukštumalos senovės gyvenvietėje III iš viso 2019 m. ištirtas 34 m2 dydžio plotas (1 pav.). Iš perkasų bei šurfo paimti grunto mėginiai geocheminei ir paleobotaninei analizėms. Iš viso surasta 211 archeologinių radinių, kurių tipologiniai–technologiniai bruožai leidžia juos priskirti finalinio paleolito – ankstyvojo mezolito laikotarpiams. [...] [p. 35].

ENIn 2019, 34 m2 was investigated at Aukštumala Stone Age site I and at Aukštumala Stone Age site III, which was newly discovered in 2018. At the former, the excavation of 10 m2 (area 2) yielded flint tools and debitage, which were mostly found in a yellowish sand layer. The excavation of a further 20 m2 (area 3) revealed flint and other rock deposits in the yellow sand layer in its E part, but no finds closer to the peat section. The excavation of test pit 9 (4 m2) to a depth of 70 cm at Aukštumala Stone Age site III yielded granite, quartz, quartzite, sandstone, and mica tools and debitage. In 2019, the excavated areas yielded a total of 211 archaeological finds, the typological– technological features of which allow for their attribution to the Final Palaeolithic – Early Mesolithic.
