LT2020 m. Vilniaus mieste, Reformatų skvere buvo tęsiami „Kultūrinį–istorinį reformacijos paveldą reprezentuojančio Reformatų sodo atkūrimo ir sutvarkymo“ projekto darbai. Jų metu įvairiose minimos teritorijos dalyse suprojektuoti įvairios paskirties statiniai bei ketinta įrengti nemažai inžinerinių tinklų. Šiose vietose atlikti detalieji tyrimai. 1582 m. Eustachijus Valavičius sklypą aptariamoje vietovėje padovanojo evangelikų reformatų špitolei ir kapinėms. 1625–1626 m. sinodo sąskaitose minima, kad statoma kapinių tvora turi būti ne žemesnė nei 3 sieksniai. Dėl nesutarimų su katalikais 1640 m. Lenkijos karalius ir Lietuvos didysis kunigaikštis Vladislovas Vaza pasirašė dekretą, kuriuo evangelikai reformatai buvo iškelti už Vilniaus miesto sienos ribų ir anksčiau dovanotame sklype įkūrė savo kapines, o iki 1651 m. pastatė pirmąją medinę bažnytėlę. ENIn 2020, the archaeological investigation (34 trenches totalling 637.75 m2) conducted on the grounds of Reformatų Square determined that a 15th-century cultural layer horizon and possible traces of settlement exist in the S and partly the centre of the park’s grounds (trenches 2 and 11). Burials from the Reformed Church cemetery have survived in the central part of the square. Based on the conducted investigation (trenches 11 and 27) the cemetery extends further E than had previously been thought. In this part, second half of the 19th – early 20th-century stone paving, which is likely the paved inner courtyard of the former consistory, was recorded considerably above the burials. A layer of varying intensity and thickness, clayey or with clayey rubble, and probably connected with the Reformed church that stood in this part until its destruction in 1682, was recorded in the N and NW part of the park(trenches 4–6, 10, 16–18, 31). In the same area a horizon of grey sand with seams of lime or charcoal and second half of the 17th – early 18th-century finds was recorded. It was the richest and most distinct in the NE part of the grounds. It is possible to make an assumption about the assignment of this layer to the fire, mentioned in historical sources, that was caused in this area by the mid-17th-century Russo-Polish War. In evaluating the entire grounds of Reformatų Square, it should be stressed that a large part of the cultural layer horizons from various periods were greatly disturbed during the Soviet era when the cemetery was destroyed and terraced paths created in the park that had existed until then. The 17th–19th-century horizons have been disturbed the most.
