Kaštonų ir Laisvės aikščių tyrimai

LTŠeduvos mieste (Radviliškio r.), Kaštonų ir Laisvės aikštėse numatoma įrengti automobilių stovėjimo aikštelę, šaligatvius, aikščių infrastruktūrą, todėl 2020 m. teritorijoje atlikti žvalgomieji tyrimai ir žvalgymai. Kaštonų aikštėje ištirtas bendras 15,5 m2 plotas, Laisvės aikštėje žvalgytas bendras 216 m2 plotas. Šeduva pirmą kartą istoriniuose šaltiniuose paminėta 1378 m., Livonijos riterių žygio į Lietuvą aprašyme. Vilhelmo von Frimerskeimo žygio metu Šeduva pavadinta ,,Sandeniškėmis‘‘ (Bukauskas A., Trumpa Šeduvos miesto istorija, Utena, 1992, p. 3). Plačiau Šeduva žinoma nuo XVI a. pradžios. 1529 m. įsteigta parapija, vadinama Šiauduva. LDK laikais Šeduva buvo kunigaikščio dvaras ir seniūnija. 1654 m. karalius Jonas Kazimieras suteikė miesteliui Magdeburgo teises. [...] [p. 457].

ENIn 2020, a field evaluation (15.5 m2 excavated) and survey (216 m2 surveyed) were conducted in Kaštonų and Laisvės Squares in the city of Šeduva (Radviliškis District). Test pits 1, 2, and 4 revealed a 37–75 cm thick, 18th – first half of the 20th-century cultural layer, test pit 5 a 1.08 m thick, rich second half of the 17th – first half of the 20th-century cultural layer divided into 3 separate horizons, and test pits 2 and 5 the stone foundations of buildings dating to the 19th – first half of the 20th centuries. In all, the test pits yielded 66 finds: coins, sherds of thrown ceramic vessels, stove tile fragments, glass vessel shards, a belt retainer, and part of a roof tile. The survey of 216 m2 in utility trench 1 at Laisvės Sq. 28 revealed a 45 cm thick layer of mixed soil created in the 20th – early 21st centuries.
