Tyrimai Dariaus ir Girėno gatvėje 26

LT2020 m. Kudirkos Naumiestyje (Šakių r., Kudirkos Naumiesčio sen.), greta pastato, esančio Dariaus ir Girėno g. 26, ŠR sienos, projektuojamo viešojo tualeto vietoje, ištirtas 2 m2 ploto šurfas. Radiniai perduoti LNM. Archeologiniai tyrimai artimiausioje aplinkoje vykdyti 1992 m., V. Kudirkos g. 29. Tuomet archeologinio sluoksnio neaptikta (LIIR, f. 1, b. 1969). 1994 m. Dariaus ir Girėno g. 18–20 ištirtose 3 perkasose atidengtas 1,05–1,4 m storio kultūrinis sluoksnis. Apatinis horizontas datuotas XVIII–XIX a. (LIIR, f. 1, b. 2305). 2011 m. įrengiamų vandentiekio ir nuotekų tinklų vietose, Dariaus ir Girėno gatvės R dalyje tirtuose šurfuose aptiktas 45–100 cm storio XVII a. II pusės – XVIII a. kultūrinis sluoksnis bei XIX a. I pusės gatvės grindinys. V. Kudirkos gatvėje tirtuose šurfuose neaptikta nei archeologinio sluoksnio, nei pavienių radinių (KPC DF, f. 29, ap. 1, b. 3224). [...] [p. 439-440].

ENA 2 m2 test pit was excavated in Kudirkos Naumiestis (Šakiai District). The cultural layer was 1.4–1.8 m thick with 3 formation stages being distinguished: 20th-century layers up to 60 cm deep; an 18th–19th-century horizon at a depth of 0.6–1.1 m and containing contemporaneous sherds of household pottery, glass vessel shards, iron finds, animal bones, and sherds of plates decorated with dot, diaper, and basketweave designs; and a 17th–18th-century cultural layer at a depth of 1.1–1.8 m and containing sherds of reduction fired ceramics and green-glazed vessels characteristic of that period as well as animal bones. A fragment of the stone foundation from a building that stood there in the second half of the 19th – first half of the 20th century was recorded at a depth of 40–80 cm in the test pit’s NW wall. A 19th – first half of the 20th-century pit, which had been reinforced with wooden planks and containing 17th – first half of the 20th-century finds, was excavated in the test pit’s NW corner.
