Tyrimai Kurpių gatvėje

LT2020 m. lapkričio mėnesį atlikti detalieji tyrimai ir žvalgymai Klaipėdos mieste, Kurpių gatvėje. Tyrimai vykdyti planuojamos įrengti reklaminės kolonos su viešuoju automatiniu tualetu bei jai skirtų buitinių ir vandentiekio tinklų trasų vietose, žvalgymai – elektros tinklų trasos vietoje. Tyrimų vieta yra saugomose Klaipėdos senamiesčio (UK 16075) bei senojo miesto vietos su priemiesčiais (UK 27077) teritorijose. Tyrimai vyko vietoje, kur nuo XVI a. kūrėsi Klaipėdos (Mėmelio) miestas. Ji yra tolimiausiame miesto salos R kampe, kur skyrėsi Dangės vaga ir kur XVI a. buvo pastatytos Šv. Jono ir Šv. Mikalojaus bažnyčios. Anksčiau vykdant tyrimus artimoje aplinkoje, fiksuotas XVI–XX a. kultūrinis sluoksnis arba permaišyti sluoksniai su to laikotarpio radiniais ir struktūromis. 1980 m. archeologinius tyrimus atliko V. Žulkus (ATL 1980 ir 1981 metais, 1982, p. 85–86), 2012–2013 m. R. Nabažaitė (ATL 2012 metais, 2013, p. 335–340; ATL 2013 metais, 2014, p. 265–274). [...] [p. 424].

ENIn 2020, V. Bračiulis conducted an excavation (4 trenches to a planned depth that total roughly 49 m2) in the NE part of Kurpių street in Klaipėda, revealing a second half of the 16th–18th-century archaeological layer, a 19th–20th-century cultural layer, and fill as well as mixed soil layers. Structures were also discovered: a foundation fragment from a 17th-century half-timbered building, a fragment of a second half of the 17th-century wooden structure, a fragment of first half of the 18th-century stone paving, a fragment of an 18th-century masonry structure, a stone and squared timber foundation, an unworked small log revetment, and a mid-20th-century massive concrete foundation. It yielded 130 finds dating to the second half of the 16th – first half of the 20th centuries, among which a copper alloy band ring with a human profile impressed in the round bezel stands out.
