Muitinės gatvė 2

LTPastatų komplekse, priklausančiame Vilniaus dailės akademijai, Muitinės g. 2 (UK 1114), vyksta restauravimo ir pritaikymo mokymo paskirčiai darbai. Tvarkant pastatų komplekso kiemus, žeminti dabar esantys paviršiai, kiemuose įrengti lietaus, buitinių ir gamybinių nuotekų tinklai, naujas šilumos tinklų įvadas. Žemės darbų vietose atlikti detalieji tyrimai ir žvalgymai. Tyrimams vadovavo D. Balčiūnas, kartu dirbo A. Žalnierius ir MINK nariai. Tyrimų vieta yra Kauno senamiesčio P dalyje, 11 kvartale. Iš Š pusės jį riboja Muitinės gatvė, iš R – V. Kuzmos gatvė, iš P – Karaliaus Mindaugo prospekto tęsinys, iš V – Aleksoto gatvė. Kvartalas yra seniausioje miesto dalyje, PR Rotušės aikštės kampe. Jo teritorijos P dalis priklausė pranciškonų vienuolynui, XIX a. kvartale buvo pastatyta miesto ligoninė, o tarybiniais metais veikė Psichiatrinė ligoninė. [...] [p. 393].

ENThe archaeological investigation in the building complex at Muitinės St. 2 in Kaunas excavated a 6x3 m trench and 5 test pits (totalling 108 m2) and surveyed another 1191 m2. The surviving cultural layer was 1.5–1.9 m thick. Removing the yard surface in the W courtyard revealed fragments of a 17th-century boundary fence and fieldstone paving as well as first half of the 20th-century structures: 5 concrete sewage wells, a septic tank, and a 2.2 m diameter, 8.6 m deep artesian well. The cultural layers in the greater part of the area had been destroyed by the previously laid sewer network. The 22x1.6 m utility trench (35.2 m2) dug in the SE courtyard for the district heating line revealed the remains of a foundation and paving that have no clear purpose and date to the 18th–19th and 19th–20th centuries. The archaeological finds consisted of fragments of ‘pot-shaped’ and panel stove tiles, sherds of household pottery and structural ceramics, dating to the 15th–18th and 19th–20th centuries, 15th–19th-century silver and copper coins and jetons, and various iron and non-ferrous metal artefacts.
