Senoji Krekenavos bažnyčia

LT2020 m. Krekenavos Švč. Mergelės Marijos Ėmimo į dangų bažnyčios statinių komplekso (UK 32375) teritorijoje, (Panevėžio r.) Bažnyčios g. 13 sklype vykdytų žemės judinimo darbų vietose žvalgytas 617 m2 plotas. Anksčiau archeologiniai tyrimai bažnyčios šventoriuje vykdyti 2012 (A. Žilinskaitė) (ATL 2012 metais, 2013, p. 666) ir 2013 m. (M. Vitkūnas) (ATL 2013 metais, 2014, p. 503). Tyrimų metu fiksuoti XVII–XVIII bei XIX–XX a. kultūrinio sluoksnio horizontai, su šiems laikmečiais būdingais negausiais radiniais. 2016 m. vykdytų tyrimų metu šurfe 3 dalinai atidengtas žmogaus kapas, žvalgant fiksuota paskirų žmonių kaulų iš suardytų kapų (ATL 2016 metais, 2017, p. 220–222). 2018 m. vykdytų tyrimų metu, technologinių prieduobių vietose fiksuoti iki 55 cm storio supiltinio grunto sluoksniai (ATL 2018 metais, 2019, p. 326–307). ENIn 2020, a field survey was conducted in 617 m2 on the plot at Bažnyčios St. 13 on the grounds of the building complex of the Krekenava Church of the Assumption (Panevėžys District, Central Lithuania). At the NE corner of the current church, a 13.7x3.5 m fragment of the foundation of the old Krekenava church was unearthed at a depth of 50–60 cm. Based on the architectural investigation and historical data the church was built in the first half of the 17th century and substantially reconstructed in 1822. The 50–60 cm wide foundation was created using natural and worked stone bound with lime mortar containing small pieces of charcoal, sand, and large grained mineral aggregate. The excavation on the S side of the path revealed two fragments of former column bases, which had been created using red bricks bound with lime mortar.
