Summary / Abstract:

LT2020 m. rugpjūčio–rugsėjo mėnesiais TO atliko žvalgomuosius tyrimus Vilniaus senamiestyje (UK 16076), Augustinų vienuolyno statinių ansamblio (UK 17068) Švč. Mergelės Marijos Ramintojos bažnyčioje (UK 1093) ir jos aplinkoje (Savičiaus g. 15). Numatyta bažnyčią remontuoti ir rekonstruoti: tvarkyti pamatus ir hidroizoliuoti. Taip pat planuojama tvarkyti rūsį. Atkastų mūrų architektūrinius tyrimus atliko architektūros ekspertas R. Zilinskas. Vilniaus dalyje, kadaise vadintoje „Rusėnų miestu“, esanti Švč. Mergelės Marijos Ramintojos bažnyčia pastatyta anksčiau čia stovėjusios Šv. Kozmo ir Damijono cerkvės vietoje. Medinė cerkvė čia minima nuo 1503 m. (VAA, f. 1019, ap. 11, b. 4481, p. 34). Po 1655–1661 m. Vilnių nusiaubusios maskvėnų, jų sąjungininkų invazijos ir okupacijos, 1675 m. tiriamojoje teritorijoje įsikūrė vienuoliai augustinai. 1679 m. jie pastatė medinę bažnyčią, kuri sudegė 1742 m. 1746–1768 m. pastatyta mūrinė Švč. Marijos Ramintojos bažnyčia ir ilgasis (R) vienuolyno korpusas. 1833–1842 m. daugumoje vienuolyno pastatų buvo įsikūrusi Vilniaus dvasinė seminarija. [...] [p. 307].

ENIn 2020, a field evaluation was conducted inside the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Consolation in Vilnius and in its immediate vicinity. This work was performed in preparation for its repair and reconstruction. This single tower Baroque church, unusual for 18th-century Vilnius architecture, was turned into a warehouse during the Soviet period. 5 trenches (totalling 59 m2) were excavated during the investigation. Sterile soil lay at a depth of 0.8–2.2 m and deeper. The earliest cultural layer horizons, which were discovered only in trench 3, date to the late 14th–15th centuries. Trench 1 contained an 18th-century bell and human bones from disturbed burials but sterile soil was not reached. A fragment of a first half of the 20th-century brick floor was discovered immediately under the surface layer in trench 2 and was left in situ. Sterile soil was reached at a depth of 80 cm in the S part of trench 3 and early cultural layer horizons, which had been disturbed by storage pits or other digging, were recorded. This location also revealed the church’s arched foundation; the space inside the arch had been bricked up. A small fragment of paving was also found near the lower part of the foundation. In trench 4, a 2 m wide masonry structure, which was of undetermined length underground and had possibly been used for burials, was discovered at a depth of roughly 1 m. Two 18th–19th-century burials were discovered in the trench 4 extension; sterile soil was reached from a depth of 2.2 m. The remains of a fairly well preserved masonry building from the 16th – first half of the 17th century as well as 17th or 18th-century fill layers were discovered in trench 5 but sterile soil was not reached.
