Summary / Abstract:

ENThe historical biographies of Michal Ezofowicz and Abrahams Ezofowicz have been revived in fictionalized works of the end 19 to 20 centuries, written in Polish, Russian and Lithuanian. They have proven well-suited for authors of the region (all considered the heritage of the Grand Duchy as their own) to express their convictions about Jews. The biographies of the brothers became a universal example in literature of Jewish emancipation, applicable (in consideration of chronology) for revealing three socio-cultural adaptation possibilities in Polish, Russian and Lithuanian societies.
