Vilūnų senovės gyvenvietės IV rytinė dalis

LT2020 m. balandį–liepą KU BRIAI vykdė detaliuosius tyrimus Vilūnų senovės gyvenvietės IV R dalyje, LLDJ statybos vietoje, tarp piketų 665+40 ir 667+02. Gyvenvietės V dalį tyrė LII mokslininkai (žr. p. 34–38). Gyvenvietė lokalizuojama Lapainios upės slėnyje, ant tarp šlapynių supamos kalvelės, kuri praeityje galėjo būti sala buvusioje Kalvių ežero V dalyje. Šiuo metu kalvelė intensyviai ariama, jos paviršiuje randama daug titnago skaldos ir dirbinių. KU BRIAI tyrimų ruože fiksuotas tarp Habs 89,03–93,53 m. Vilūnų senovės gyvenvietė IV iki šiol detaliau netirta. Ją 2015 m. aptiko R. Vengalis ir G. Piličiauskas, ariamo lauko paviršiuje surinkę titnago radinių ir preliminariai datavę juos finaliniu paleolitu ir mezolitu (ATL 2015 metais, 2016, p. 462–463). [...] [p. 41].

ENIn 2020 large–scale archaeological excavations in frame of GIPL project were carried out at the Vilūnai settlement IV(Kaišiadorys district), in its eastern part, which falls within the section of the international gas pipeline connection between Poland and Lithuania (GIPL). The settlement is located on the hill and surrounded by wetlands, that most likely was the western part of the Kalviai Lake. During the investigations, a total area of 2168 m2 was excavated. The research concluded that the majority of the settlement is destroyed by an intense ploughing and only archaeological layers at the wetland part are still intact. The wetland part contained former lake deposits with various thickness of peat and gyttja. At the bottom of the trenches no. 1A–3, mostly in their NE and SE parts, Final Palaeolithic lithic concentration was found, whereas ploughing field contained numerous lithics dated to Final Palaeolithic – Neolithic. However, in the NW and N parts of the trenches no. 1–A–3, Neolithic finds, pottery, small flint flakes and animal bone fragments, were found. A total of 2849 archaeological finds were found, consisting of flint flakes, blades and their fragments, scrapers, burins, single and opposite platform cores, microliths, triangular arrowheads, flint, and stone axes. Rims and wall fragments of hunter–gatherer–fishers pottery were obtained as well.
