Vilniaus Didžiosios sinagogos liekanų tyrimai

LTVilniuje, sklype Vokiečių g. 13A ir Žydų gatvėje atlikti čia iki 1957 m. stovėjusios Didžiosios sinagogos statinių liekanų (UK 41887) detalieji tyrimai. Didžiosios sinagogos kompleksą 2011 m. pradėjo tirti Z. Baubonis ir M. Mačiulis (ATL 2011 metais, 2012, p. 295–302), 2015 m. komplekso teritorijoje bei aplinkoje geofizinius tyrimus atliko M. Daubaro, J. Seligmano ir Z. Baubonio vadovaujama komanda (ATL 2015 metais, 2016, p. 564), kuri nustatė būsimų tyrimų perspektyviausias vietas. 2016 m. tyrimų metu tikslinti ankstesnių metų geofiziniais tyrimais surinkti duomenys, aptikti pirčių pastato pamatai (ATL 2016 metais, 2017, p. 217–220). ENIn 2021, two areas (104 m2) were excavated at the ruins of the Great Synagogue, situated at Vokiečių Str. 13A and Žydų Str. in Vilnius (until 1957). The recorded deposits were up to 2.8 m thick, accumulated during the demolition of the Synagogue in 1957. The excavation unearthed previously unknown parts of the synagogue’s floor, its covers, colours and decorations; provided a better understanding regarding the structure of the stairs to Aron Kodesh; fully exposed the S bimah column; uncovered upper ornaments of the bimah; identified the direction of collapse for two of the columns; and recovered lots of pieces of plaster with surviving colourful decorations. It was determined that the synagogue used to feature stained glass windows. A unique find was recovered through dry sieving – a Torah pointer (yad).
