Pikelių Švč. Trejybės bažnyčia

LT2021 m. kovo 16–20 d. buvo atliekami detalieji tyrimai Pikelių Švč. Trejybės bažnyčios statinių komplekso Švč. Trejybės bažnyčios (UK 1504) (Mažeikių r., Židikų sen., Tvenkinio g. 3) viduje aptiktame rūsyje. Bendras ištirtas plotas sudaro apie 12,25 m². Archeologinių tyrimų tikslas buvo visiškai atidengti iki pusės smėlio ir žvyro sluoksniu užpiltą rūsio patalpą, nustatyti, ar yra išlikęs palaidojimas (palaidojimai), identifikuoti kitus palaidojimo pėdsakus – palaikų dalis ir daiktines liekanas (karstus, jų dalis, įkapes ir pan.), nustatyti kapavietės chronologiją. Archeologinių tyrimų metu aptikus žmonių kaulų, atlikti antropologinius tyrimus, o jų duomenis pateikti archeologinių tyrimų ataskaitoje. Pikelių bažnyčia rašytiniuose šaltiniuose minima nuo XVI a., ji ne kartą perstatyta ir renovuota. [...] [p. 570-571].

ENIn 16–20 March 2021, detailed archaeological excavations were carried out in the St. Trinity Church building complex in Pikeliai, inside the newly discovered vault of the St. Trinity Church (Tvenkinio Str. 3, Pikeliai, Mažeikiai district). The total area excavation area was around 12.25 m². The aims of the excavation were: to fully remove the sand and gravel fill from the vault; to determine if any burials were present; to identify any other evidence of burials, namely disturbed human remains or associated artefacts (coffins or their parts, and so on); and to determine the chronology of the burial(s). The interior of the vault was completely emptied, i.e., both the chamber and the stair area. The bulk of the chamber contained a late-20th-century fill (up to 90 cm thick). However, the lower part, up to 50 cm from the vault floor, contained some scattered artefacts, namely a few glazed pottery and glass shards, part of a kerosene lamp, a 19th-century cockade of a Prussian military helmet, an iron nail, and an iron object of unknown purpose. The finds date from the second half of the 19th to the early 20th century. There was a cluster of non-articulated bones of at least four individuals, situated 10–20 cm above the vault floor, by the N wall.
