Tomo gatvė 2A, 2B ir 6

LT2020 m. lapkritį – gruodžio pradžioje ir 2021 m. kovo–lapkričio mėnesiais vyko detalieji tyrimai Klaipėdoje, Tomo g. 2A, 2B ir 6 sklypuose projektuojamo viešbučio vietoje. Sklypų istorinius tyrimus atliko K. Demereckas, istorinių duomenų analizę papildė architektūrinių tyrimų autorės V. Veževičienė, D. Saulytienė, V. Pilkauskienė ir I. Liaudanskaitė (VšĮ Architektūros tyrimų centras). Sklypai patenka į Klaipėdos senojo miesto vietos su priemiesčiais (UK 27077) ir Klaipėdos senamiesčio (UK 16075) P dalies teritoriją neužstatytoje senamiesčio dalyje, ribojamoje Tomo, Mėsininkų ir Didžiojo Vandens gatvių. 2020 m. baigta tirti dar 2017 m. pradėta perkasa 1 (216 m2 plotas), 2021 m. baigta perkasa 3B (145 m2), taip pat tirtas likęs sklypų plotas. Visiškai ištirtas 989 m2 plotas, padalintas į 5 perkasas. Teritorijos ŠV dalyje, palei Tomo gatvę tirtas, tačiau aptikus ankstesnį užstatymą ir tebeveikusių inžinerinių tinklų, iki įžemio neištirtas 375 m2 plotas (padalintas į 3 perkasas). [...] [p. 337].

ENIn 2020–2021, an excavation was conducted at Tomo St. 2A, 2B, and 6 (7 trenches totalling 989 m2) and beside Tomo Street in the NE part of the area (3 trenches totalling 375 m2), but the discovery of the remains of former buildings and the continued operation of utility lines prevented the latter from being excavated down to sterile soil. The investigation revealed 2.5–4.2 m thick, 16th–20th-century cultural layers, which were thickest in the SE part of the plot. Below the cultural layer lay organic soil: brown peat and sapropel, followed by bluish grey sand. It also yielded archaeological finds characteristic of 16th–19th-century Klaipeda Old Town as well as special finds of exceptional historic and cultural value. In the NE part of the territory, Trenches 6–8 yielded fragments of 4 buildings, which had been built and reconstructed at various times, had different purposes, were made of different materials, and varied in height. A considerable part of the older, 18th–19th-century foundations were destroyed during 20th-century earthwork. The houses, damaged during WWII (December 1944), were completely demolished after the war.
