An Ontology for the perplexed: a critique of the ontological aspects of Roman Ingarden’s literary work of art

ENThe article presents a detailed exposition and a critical evaluation of two particular sections of Roman Ingarden’s Literary Work of Art, the first of which is concerned with the general characteristics of the sentence and the second with the purely intentional object of a simple intentional act. It is thereby shown how questions of being, essence, and experience intersect to make a fruitful and rewarding philosophical inquiry into the complex nature of a literary work of art.
